meaningful regret

After reading it, I feel very sad and regretful. Mr. Lu Xun once said: Tragedy destroys the valuable things in life for others to see, and comedy tore up the worthless things for others to see. Maybe I'm too emotional, but I can't deny that this ending is perfect. I like the tone interspersed in the film-elegant men and women, restrained feelings, beautiful fields in England, steam trains more than 100 years ago, soft faces under orange light, gentle and peaceful smiles.

Generally, lackluster. Victorian CPs are more glamorous. Why did the little girl lose the letter at the end? A veritable asshole!

Possession quotes

  • [first lines]

Randolph Ash: They say that women change. 'Tis so, but you are ever-constant in your changefulness. Like that still thread of falling river, one from source to last embrace, in the still pool ever-renewed and ever-moving on, from first to last, a myriad water-drops.

  • Randolph Ash: You cut me, Madam.

Christabel LaMotte: I'm sorry. I only meant to scratch.
