Rocky IV (Rocky 4) 1985
I started to read "Rocky" again 》It’s a long series.
I just finished complimenting Sylvester Stallone in the last one, and he doesn't give me a face anymore in this one. As the screenwriter and director of the fourth part, he began to repeat himself again, and the story of this one is quite boring. Rocky was invincible in the first three games, but this time he had to get involved with the Soviets. Is there any mistake? Even boxing movies involve confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union. Americans have a really strong sense of the Cold War. This time, he just replaced the black boy in the third part with a Soviet boxer; in this episode, a relative or friend died, but the coach was replaced by Apollo, and the way he died was changed. The plot of the whole movie left me speechless.
The plot is roughly like this: the film tells about a Soviet world champion who came to the United States to challenge. Apollo thought this kid was easy to deal with and took the initiative to challenge him. Who knew he was beaten to death on the ring by a Soviet fighter. Rocky is here to challenge Soviet fighters for the Americans and for Apollo. After hard training, he finally won the story of victory. The routine is still the third part, and the pattern from failure to success is not new at all. The script for this episode written by Sylvester Stallone is purely for punching and punching, and this movie was also shot for making money.
Although the plot is speechless, the filming method of the film is more modern than that of the third one. The cutting of the picture is sharper, the style of the picture is tougher, and the use of music is more skillful. The fast flashbacks in the middle of the film are matched with the passionate rock music, which can bring out Rocky's mood at the time: scenes from the past are nostalgic and sad. Of course, Rocky's blood training is indispensable in this episode, and it is still the familiar music. This time, the blood training scene is broader. It is not the city streets and the seaside. It is replaced by the top of the snow-capped mountains. The whole picture looks very magnificent. Although this scene is not comparable to the computer special effects of the "Lord of the Rings" series in the 21st century, this scene in 1985 was already shocking.
As for the two games in this film, there is nothing to watch. After watching the first three intense and exciting boxing matches, I was a little tired of aesthetics. In addition, the size of the two opponents in this episode is too far apart, not evenly matched, nor does it seem exciting. What I don’t understand the most is how could Rocky win? Obviously the Soviets have the advantage, Rocky can't beat him at all. Although this is an American movie, it is for Americans to see, how can it be more realistic, but this victory is a bit of a joke.
Finally, the Americans mocked the Soviet Union again in this movie, taking turns in politics, sports, life, and so on. This movie is American obscenity, to have fun for oneself. And those shots in the Soviet Union were definitely not shot in the Soviet Union. In short, from this movie we can see the American views and attitudes towards the Soviet Union at that time.
To sum it up, this is a sequel to a sequel movie with a few elements replaced, nothing to watch. Sylvester Stallone is repeating himself, not to look at it.
