not a road movie

It seems like it's one of those road movies, but it is more than that. The story is well written, it gives a lot of time for the characters to develop emotionally, and Rachel McAdams's very well acted in this one, it's much better than her performance in "the notebook". I heard she participated in a boot camp just for preparing for this roll.
In most of the parts, the movie is serious, also it has some funny moments, which made me laugh out loud.
But just the ending, I haven't thought through about the ending, why did Neil Burger put off an ending like nothing had happened? They just all went back to the army.
I really wished something more could happen on Rachel's character.
It is of course not a great movie, but worth viewing.

It's a lighthearted film with a little warmth and humor, but I want to ask if it is expressing anti-war

3.5. In my opinion, this is not a simple "anti-war" or "recruitment" propaganda film. It can only be said that it is a good-looking story, although the plot of the tornado is indeed vulgar. But overall, ok. If the story can be told smoothly, the process is exciting, and it is not conventional, it is ok.

The Lucky Ones quotes

  • [Colee looks at a photograph of Cheaver dancing with his wife]

Colee Dunn: You must be a good dancer, huh?

Fred Cheaver: Oh, no. My wife's a good dancer. I just try to keep up. She loves all those Latin dances. Samba, Merengue, The Tango.

Colee Dunn: She's a looker, huh?

Fred Cheaver: Yeah, she is. What she's doing with someone like me, I'll never know and I'm not gonna ask.

  • [Colee tells Cheaver and T.K. they're the lucky ones]

Colee Dunn: We're the lucky ones, aren't we? We made it through in one piece. I got shot in the leg, but all I gotta do is put some goo on it.
