Watched the three most famous films of Lao Ku, "Underground", "Black Cat and White Cat" and this "Life is a Miracle". When I bought the disc, I didn't read it carefully, and I didn't find the director's name at all. I just saw the story about the railway and bought it immediately. As everyone knows, I am a train fan. So when it comes to movies, this is without a doubt my favorite Kusturica. I don't tell the story, only the details.
The first is the railway. What a beautiful railway. Engineer Luca knows every tunnel of the railway like the back of his hand, and I have a longing for every shot of the railway. It's an unfinished railway, with old convertible cars running on the tracks, hand-cranked wooden carts for postmen, goats and cows roaming the tracks, and a donkey, trapped in love, always standing on the tracks What are you waiting for. The engineer's home is right next to the railway. People have never been so close to the railway, we've never been so in love with the platform, and the railway without trains is so fascinating, and that's the number one reason I love this movie.
Then there are the wonderful animals. Kusturica must be a person who likes animals very much. I have no doubts about this. Let's take a look at this movie. There are too many animals in the show, which is even more dazzling than the actors. Not just flash, grizzly bears, pigeons, donkeys, black cats, horses, yellow dogs, all of them are wonderful. The donkey is very cute, does it really want to commit suicide by lying on the rails because of love? The black cat is very stylish, and it drives the dog to run away and grabs bread from the owner; the yellow dog is very smart, and it obviously understands its own value best. And my favorite scene is the night when the war was raging. The man was holding the dog on the bed, the woman was holding the cat on the sofa, and the shells fell. The expressions of the woman and the cat were exactly the same. After the name of the gunfire sat on a bed and started kissing, the yellow dog and black cat sitting on the side made an indescribable bark-----the excellent performance of the animals is the second reason why I like this movie.
The third reason is movie characters. This is the part that I have nothing to say, because everyone who has watched Laoku movies knows that Laoku's movie characters are absolutely cool. No matter whether the protagonist or the supporting role, or the absurd or the joke or the nerve or the cunning or the villain, do not take the usual route. Just watch a movie. It is also necessary to mention the setting background of the film. The reason why Kusturica is so arrogant is related to his style of talking about war and tragedy but never being sentimental.
