lola rennt is my favorite movie. many reasons. That kind of destiny seems to change in an instant, but it is already doomed, and a detail can affect a lifetime. If we think about ourselves, for example, I ran into a beggar today and I gave him a dollar, or I didn’t see it, would my life go another way? How does my destiny intersect with strangers, change and influence each other? There is no bottom line for thinking about this kind of problem. It's like thinking about the universe.
In fact, what strikes me even more is Lola's unconditional love for Manny. Manny is weak, uninspiring, flustered, and has no faith in love. But Lola didn't calculate these at all. With a phone call from her lover, one hundred thousand marks, she used all her strength to save her boyfriend who had only stayed with her for a year. She keeps running, running, running. Exhaust all your strength, without thinking about it. Her red hair beating with her steps, that is lola's simple fire-like character and love.
love him, then keep running for him.
Love is that simple.

Laura: Manny.
Manny: Huh?
Laura: Do you love me?
Manny: Love.
Laura: Why can you be so sure?
Manny: I don't know, I just love you.
Laura: Can I be another girl?
Manny: No.
Laura: Why not?
Manny: Because you are the best.
Laura: What is the best?
Manny: The best girl.
Laura: The best in the world?
Manny: Yes!
Laura: How do you know?
Manny: I just know.

Nothing but a pretty title. It is a common problem that experimental films have more form than content, but this one has no content at all.

    [subtitled version]

Narrator: Man... probably the most mysterious species on our planet. A mystery of unanswered questions. Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? How do we know what we think we know? Why do we believe anything at all? Countless questions in search of an answer... an answer that will give rise to a new question... and the next answer will give rise to the next question and so on. But, in the end, isn't it always the same question? And always the same answer?

  • Manni: What if I were in a coma, and the doc says, "One more day?"

Lola: I'd throw you into the ocean... Shock therapy.
