S02E03 Copper Valley, Mexico
1. In a high place with a good view, the direction can be determined by observing the difference in the slope of the canyon: the north slope is more humid due to less sunlight, and the vegetation on the south slope is relatively dry.
2. Use a long and straight object as a reference (safety handrail), here is the Chiwawa Pacific Railway that runs through the Copper Valley.
3. Look for cracks in the rock wall (cracks formed by erosion of the rock wall) along the cliff, and you can usually go down the mountain along the cracks in the rock wall.
4. Be good at finding traces of animals: The dung of the coyote on the cliff indicates that the way down the mountain is nearby.
5. Recognize and use plants: The needles of agave are connected with long fibers, which are natural needles and threads.
6. Always pay attention to when it gets dark. An easy way to measure how long it takes the sun to go down: put your arms straight and your palms in front of your eyes, align the top edge of your palms with the sun, and measure the distance to the horizon. Each finger is equal to 15 minutes.
7. Determine the direction: rub the wire against the hair to magnetize it
8. Determine the direction: the shadow of the canyon in the southern hemisphere will never fall to the north (and vice versa in the northern hemisphere).
