we are all children

No big productions, no big stars, no big scenes, no big emotions, and no big endings. It is indeed the Palme d'Or of Cannes, and especially, it lives up to its name.
What I like the most is the male actor's control, the volatilization rhythm of energy and the propulsive interpretation of tension are just right and precise.
The power of control also lies in the director, without deliberately seeking plots, but with a sense of randomness permeated like a Chinese painting, about growth, life, confusion, and straightforwardness, but there is no preaching.
I'm a little picky or the outburst at the end. I feel that the male protagonist's force is too much. If you want me, it's better not to cry. It's just that after the coffee is poured, the man and the woman look at each other and just hug.

"Blue Danube" was directly used as the soundtrack, laughing and then crying. Although Dane has been making the same movie, overall, its abrupt ending or turning point, or light, or tangled, is always better to do than not to explain. Based on this comparison, the two Palme d'Or are just slightly inferior.

"Bullshit" is probably the second type I can't accept. However, this extremely plain description greatly reduces the "type stereotype" of this image, and what happens to people and the people around them, as well as people's reactions to things, are all intimate and touching. The child is not only the baby, but also the couple who have not grown up. The boy finally shouldered his responsibilities, confessed his guilt, rescued his accomplice's child, and finally got his girlfriend's forgiveness, holding hands and looking into tears. I believe that people who have not experienced storms will not change, and I also believe that people who have experienced storms will change, so I believe that the ending is not a mirror image, and the male protagonist has indeed grown. Therefore, I also strongly disagree with the statement that this film is some kind of prequel to "The Bicycle Boy".

  • Bruno: Did you fart?

    Thomas: No.

[Bruno laughs, walks away smelling something in the air]
