Mary was sent to boarding school by her father and stepmother. Paulie and Tori in the same dormitory are a pair of les. Mary didn't understand why they hugged each other and slept in the same bed, she thought that everything they were doing was just "internship" for the boy. The three went for a morning run in the forest and encountered a wounded eagle. Paulie was so fascinated by the bird of prey that she kept it as her only person to confide in.
Because tori was afraid that her sister would tell her parents about her and paulie, she found a boyfriend jake. She hated him at first: "Let those guys touch me? Come on, I'd rather do math at home." But tori's parents are both Believer, she has no choice.
Just as their affairs were raging, Tori tried her best to prevent Paulie from approaching her. She and Jake made out in the forest, but was seen by Paulie who was feeding the eagle. Tori was clearly in love with Paulie, even when she refused to have sex with her, she said; "I only say it once and I won't say it again, Paulie, you make me feel like no one else can replace it. But never, ever. No way, never." Then he pulled out his hand and went on a date with the man.
Paulie is out of order. The teacher was teaching "Macbeth", she said silently: "Come back, your soul / Give me a cruel baptism from head to toe / Make my blood thicker / Block the passage to repentance / Conscienceless Repent/Can shake my intentions/Come into my arms/Turn my milk into angry blood/You/You obey nature's mistakes/Come, night, come/Cover you in the darkest smoke/ My dead head cannot see the wound / nor the night / persist". When the teacher asked her, she said she wasn't listening. She said, "Fuck you." Paulie's biological mother was reluctant to see her after she was found, and it seemed that the world had disappointed her.
She smashed the mirror and Mary was horrified.
Paulie said: "Pick up the pieces. Cut my hair."
mary: "Why?"
"Because I'm going to fight. Now I can't lose anything."
"Paulie, this is crazy."
"Come on."
"For Tori?"
"Cut— cut— My-hair-hair!"
"She wants a boy, not a girl with short hair."
Paulie was silent. Mary asked her, "Are you gay?"
"Gay? Are you kidding me? You think I am?"
"You're in love with girls, aren't you?"
"No, I'm Paulie, in love with Tori. Remember, Tori Love me too. Because I'm her she's mine. We're not gay."
Paulie took the sword and went to confess to Tori, who was standing on the table in the library. "I will: at your door. Make me a willow coffin, and call my soul in your room. I will: write faithful love. Sing on the night of death. I will call your name to the mountains Yelling at the sky, Victoria." (Tori is Victoria's nick name)
Then, with a "meine lieber" cry, the duel begins.
Her fencing practice was not in vain, and she knocked Jake down in three or two strokes. Perhaps out of control, she stabbed the sword into Jake's leg. Mary found that the situation was serious and ran back to the teacher immediately. When Tori saw her running, she knew something was wrong with Paulie.
Everyone suddenly looked up and saw Paulie standing on the roof. Her eagle rests on her shoulders.
The final line is Mary's monologue:
Dear mother, I always feel confused, don't I? Before you died, the pure love you gave me was like a flame. Burning all the time. Like birds of prey. That flame is what I need in the dark. to see when it's dark. It rescued my mom from the dark. Without that flame, Paulie would have night over her; she had to fly away. Now I dream of her every night. I think I will forever, I can remember your face. Every time I think of you, I look up and see your face, my mother's face. Like a fire passing through the sky.
I just particularly like Pauline. She was smoking a cigarette in her first appearance, dressed her stereotypical uniform in a punk style, took out a bottle of wine from her bosom, and asked Mary evilly if she wanted to go to the party. Once you are obsessed with something, you will be extremely stubborn.
"Never touch
a bird of prey." She eventually became the eagle.
What is youth, first love? Is it rock music? Is there no choice? is it automatically selected?
