The story uses different characters as perspectives to illustrate different stories that take place under the same background, and the narrative method is novel and unique. The film probably said that the city was invaded by mysterious radio waves. This radio wave was very mysterious. It was so mysterious that I didn't understand WHAT IS THE FUCK at the end of the play? The radio waves are transmitted through TV or radio, and the disturbed person is almost epileptic, animalistic, and bloody. Most people lose their reason and trust, and the relationship between people is suddenly fragmented, and friendship, love, and family are all destroyed. The whole plot is absurd, exaggerated, and weird, and I don't understand what it reflects. But I have a strong sympathy for the film. I always think that the digital TV set-top box is a huge conspiracy, because it can easily enter every household, with a wide coverage and a large amount of use, which is unprecedented; maybe there is a bug? Peep hole? jammer? Time bomb? Hard to say! If every household in China has to use a set-top box, and I am the government, why not install it?

The Signal quotes

  • Lewis Denton: What do you have here?

    Clark: [nervously] Ken... napping.

    Lewis Denton: He looks dead.

    Anna: He is.

    Lewis Denton: I see.

  • Clark: It was self defense.

Anna: You chopped his head off!

Lewis Denton: He had it coming... probably. These are wild times. Everybody's been driven to desperate measures. I guess this happens to everybody.
