. A few days ago, friends would like to have Lingdagang hot pot for their birthday. Every time they eat hot pot, they have such a feeling: the fresh bottom of the pot is just brought to the stage, and the first dish of lamb is the most delicious. Dip the peanut butter or shacha sauce in front of you, pound some garlic in the heavy taste, and spread the spicy sauce, which is a provocative impact on the taste buds of the tongue.

I know that many people like to eat hot pot, especially many hot women. But I still have to say that eating hot pot is a downhill feast. how to say? As time progressed, the mutton oil in the pot was also boiled, and the peanut butter and spicy sauce in the bowl had long been dipped as muddy as the sewage of a paper mill, and the mutton had been eaten up, and the leftover radishes, sweet potatoes, Rice cakes, etc., are indeed a bit boring in relative terms.

Watching "Machete" feels like eating hot pot. This movie has the most exciting opening of the year: a Mexican uncle drove into the den of bandits, no matter the partner around him has been blasted beyond recognition, a machete in his hand, chopped hands, beheaded, bloody index makes people embarrassed. After the blood was over, a coquettish naked woman immediately seduce the male protagonist in the bloody wind. This typical dual mental stimulation of "a gun against the head, and a mouth with the root of life" shows that director Rodriguez has the essence of the torture room movie.

The appearance of the veteran Stephen Sieger also made fans like me who are in the video room stunned. In the past, watching him juggling karate in the Qianlong series, but time rushes people. Although Stephen is now in advanced age and his body is slightly blessed, when his hand is raised and his wife's head falls to the ground, the plot of the movie and the protagonist's fate are tragic. "The Scimitar" used five minutes to make those so-called "talking" movies look dull.

For a cult movie, the story of "Machete" is also more sincere. A former Mexican investigator bent on revenge, a conspiracy to win the election of the governor by violently expelling Mexicans. Several intricate confrontation forces are already full of structure for a B-rated film. The Mexican-U.S. border issue reflected in the story is an even more plausible sublimation.

This is indeed a very impressive movie, and the director has always maintained the innovation of the existing killing methods in modern film history in the film. In the hands of this full-faced Comrade Tejo, any household utensils will become bloody weapons, and the visual effects are surprisingly amazing. That kind of fighting full of exaggerated texture mocked the film's artistic cover-up of killing scenes for a long time.

But what "Machete" has not avoided is that it eventually becomes another movie that has gone downhill from the beginning. Sometimes, the critics of the audience are similar to a kind of ruthlessness for the film creators. Especially in such a movie with the spectacle of killing as its biggest feature, the "aesthetic fatigue" is the most important problem that the director needs to solve. The audience can accept you to kill for half an hour, maybe someone can last for an hour, but if there is no plot and suspense that affects people's hearts, then to a certain extent, numbness and distraction will be inevitable.

In "Machete", the suspense can be said to be absent, and the charm of the story itself, after the deceptive assassination, became uninteresting. The remaining time is a two-way game between the director's tolerance for the audience and the audience's expectations. For example, you can give me a chopped hand and beheaded at the beginning. After that, what do you use to attract me? The director immediately came up with a new idea: using human intestines as the rope when falling from a building. I have to exclaim, it's so cool, what about afterwards? Unfortunately, it wasn't until the end of the movie that I found out that the highest part of the scene was foreplay.

This kind of emotional feelings in the first half and mediocre in the second half is a common problem of this type of B-rated film. The director is obsessed with how to create pleasure, while ignoring the grasp of the rhythm of emotions. As for the pleasure itself, the director is unable to achieve a more and more powerful state from beginning to end. Some ideas were hurriedly displayed shortly after the opening. Later, in addition to putting up a few more actors and engaging in a bloody potpourri, the director was already out of wits.

Many of Rodríguez’s movies have this problem. We can look back. For example, like "A Dawn" or "Dread Planet", they are all prone to aesthetic fatigue, leading to premature excitement of the audience and premature fatigue. movie. So Quentin Tarantino had to curse "Planet of Fear" as a bad film, which lowered the taste of the torture series. Quentin’s scolding is reasonable. Compared with Quentin’s "Evidence of Death", although many viewers will find it a bit dull, it is the short burst and high-pressure stimulation after this dullness that brought the film to the movie. Such an unforgettable effect. From this point of view, Quentin Tarantino is indeed much better than Rodriguez.

We can also take "Kill Bill" as an example, which is also a revenge movie, but "Kill Bill" can effectively regulate the audience's mood in the drama, so that all the exclamation can stop exploding. , And ended contentedly. Therefore, "Machete" is not a B-level film boutique, it appears immature in many aspects.

I have always liked Rodriguez's "Sin City", the reason is very simple, because this is a short collection. For this director, maybe a film length of less than half an hour can give him more power. He is an explosive director, but his feature-length endurance pales in comparison.

In addition, the generosity of many movie stars for "Machete" has indeed added a lot to the film. As for the actor Danny Tejo, I am also very happy that he can have such a film tailored for himself. His only expression in the movie is anger. I want to keep a face in the whole movie. This look is also a very hard work.
