life is strange

Watched the Flies 1 and 2 in a row. For the faint-hearted, it was already a challenge to the limit.

For others, this movie is nothing but disgusting. However, I was so frightened when I saw it, and I thought that there were other reasons besides my cowardice.

I was full of admiration for that amazing machine in the movie, as if it were God. Just put two things into it, and a new thing can be born. Of course, this new thing doesn't look good, at least, it doesn't conform to the aesthetics of today's human beings.

Always full of all kinds of curiosity, it is impossible to resist this kind of hybrid machine. But also very frightening.

In fact, thinking about it, what I fear is the power of life. In the process of research and development of this machine, the first function is to transmit non-organisms, and the second is organisms, that is, living things. No sci-fi label is added, because all the concepts of the first part are used. As mentioned earlier, the child of the first heroine is a genius and grew up under surveillance. Behind the human war aliens. The ending is rather ironic.

The second part is the story of the second generation of the flies. The story is relatively broken. The first half is a teen romance movie, and the second half is trying to be scary. Because of the overall tone, you can't actually be scared. What impressed me was the poor dog scene. One of the details in Jurassic Park 2 is actually quite interesting. One is the common actor Jeff Goldblum, and the other is the computer password Magic Word. I wonder if there is a tribute or something.

The Fly II quotes

  • Anton Bartok: [to Martin] You can finish your Father's work. You're just as brilliant as he was, perhaps even more so.

  • Anton Bartok: [to Martin] I hope you and I can be very good friends, one day. Well, I know we are. I want us to... I want us to be more than just friends. I want you to think of me as your Dad. Huh?
