But this seemingly rigorous mechanism is not invulnerable, and the breakthrough is something wrong. A fly is a stain, a wrong starting point. It is the end point of the life of the innocent, but it is the point remaining outside the huge network. It is this little bit that in turn stares at the surveillance eye, becoming a bureaucrat. Anxious and eager to erase the stain, it is this little bit that slashed through the already festering large intestine like a dagger, allowing us to see the truth under the glamorous appearance, just like the tuttle of the repairman outside the system. His punishment, what paperwork, what masks, what suits and leather shoes, all behind it is just a room full of excrement. From the apartment where people live to the elevator in the office building and the cars on the street, they are all like a sealed matchbox, but the failure of a button will cause the entire building block to collapse; the employees wear the same uniforms, and they are as busy as ants. These are just absurd drama-like performances. The little employees in "The Metamorphosis" have become beetles, and the staff here are just beetles dressed in human skins; the delicacies in high-end French restaurants only exist in On the menu, what came up was a tuft of cow dung-like liquid food. The explosion was right in front of your eyes, but as long as the screen was blocked, people could enjoy the "deliciousness" with chat and laughter; the old woman with "splendid charm" tried to regain her youth through plastic surgery. But after the short "beauty", all that is left is a pool of rotten meat.
In such a world, whoever discovers the dung covered by the illusion is a "terrorist". Tuttle is regarded as heresy by the ruling authorities, but what he pursues is to save endless paperwork and do his job freely; the heroine Jill runs around trying to avenge the neighbors, but personally fights against the whole organization for justice. It's like standing in front of the door of law in Kafka's novel. This door is only opened for you, but you can never enter this door, and the trial does not require any reason. It was Sam's dream lover who made him at least grow wings in his dream, and summoned him to rescue him through the concrete cage. It is said that when the film was released, American audiences saw the happy ending with the male and female protagonists together, but if that were the case, Terry Gilliam would not be a ghost director outside the organization. The fact is that after Sam was caught into the chimney-like interrogation room, the next tuttle brought the resistance organization squad to rescue, and finally drove out of the death capital with Jill, it was just that Sam was brainwashed. It's just a dream of time. Desperate? Indeed, but not as desperate as 1984, at least he was immersed in the joy of love to death without betraying love. Utopia does not exist, and the good old Brazil is not far enough. The film has 22 military rules of black humor and Kafka-style allegorical schemes. It is a dystopian myth like 1984, and more importantly, just like the one written on the wall in the film. It is reality.
