I don't seem to understand the ending

The ending I understand is this:
Michael should have returned to his life after defeating Samael, but instead took over from Samael as the new fallen leader. Then, Gabriel packed up Michael, and after Michael confessed affectionately that he sacrificed himself to give Gabriel the power to regenerate, Gabriel committed suicide. Whether he can fall to death or not is not to be mentioned. I felt that Gabriel was hypnotized by Michael and wanted to have the so-called freedom. He was afraid of repeating the same mistakes of Michael, so he committed suicide. That is to say, after Michael defeated Samuel before, he failed to resist the temptation of false freedom.
Michael didn't want to be bound by God, why did he act like a ghost? If he really yearns for freedom, he should lead mankind to a brighter future. Dark and filthy, with desires flowing, even he himself could not be spared the control of desires, the city where Michael was located really did not fit the image of his holy angel. If Michael had established himself as the king, after Gabriel arrived, he could call for peace or fight hard. After all, he gave mankind a better life than what God had given him, and he would die without regret.
In short, I feel that this is a huge conspiracy. God sent angels to crusade against the dark forces, one is to eradicate dissidents, and the other is to test the loyalty of the angels. Defects like Michael are not allowed. As for the other angels, it's just that they are not strong enough to be reduced to such an unbearable situation.
In other words, human beings like this kind of dark life (otherwise, why is Michael like this), and God can’t stand human beings not under his control, so he constantly destroys dissidents. God is too selfish.
Moreover, Gabriel is actually with AmitielOOXX. Totally unacceptable! Is it necessary to have such a plot in order to attract attention? Good movies don't sell for this, but I feel that the director is not so confident in the movie that he added this kind of scene.

Alas, my favorites, Gabriel and Michael, are ruined.
