Ripley

The ring in the match point bounced high on the guardrail and finally landed on the shore. Dickie's father traveled all the way to Italy and brought a private detective. The ring finally became the ironclad evidence that the case ended, and Dickie's father brought Ripley an unexpected ending. After the match point, it was over, and the talented Mr. Ripley's climax has not really been staged yet.
Many people have ripley's mentality, at least I have it myself, so a little bit. Focusing on what you lack and what others have, you can never accept this unfair fact in your heart. He likes dickie, not only because of his wealth, he is obsessed with his charm. But ripley likes himself more, he can have these charms. He likes marge because she and dickie are in the same world, and he likes peter because peter is kind to him. But he always likes himself the most, so he can destroy all the people he likes without hesitation.
When I watched the sunrise on the boat, I thought it would be the same ending as the match point. When the call of dickie came out, I was as unwilling to believe this fact like Ripley. He finally has his own identity, and when he doesn't need to pretend to be someone else, he can't get rid of his previous shadow. He was disappointed to find that Meredith was not alone, so he had only one choice. He is always reluctant to give up on himself, because what he loves is always himself.
