episode 1

If Carter becomes Captain Britain, Steve becomes Iron Man

At the end of "Rocky", female Loki kills the people left behind, opening the multiverse.

And so the "what if" story was born, a pivotal moment in the Marvel Universe and what would have happened if the alternative had been made.

The first episode tells the story that the person who played the serum was not Steve, but Carter.

The film begins with the narration of the observers, the advanced races who record the events of the universe, and their responsibility is to observe the occurrence of events in different times and dimensions.

In "Silver Guardian 2", Stan Lee made a cameo appearance as an observer.

The Observer is voiced by Jeffrey White, Bernard from Westworld and Sheriff Gordon from The New Batman.

It appears that he is not only monitoring Westworld and Gotham, but the entire universe.

Observer says: Time, space, reality, not just a linear path.

This sentence is a pun, and the second meaning is the name of the Infinity Stones, and it also pays tribute to "Reunion 3".

Observers called Steve the skinny guy in Brooklyn, a combination of lines from Steve and Colonel Phillips.

When Steve accepted the super soldier experiment, Carter did not leave the laboratory, but chose to stay.

It is this small change that creates a new parallel universe, and thus triggers the butterfly effect, producing a history that is completely different from the main universe.

First, Phillips was shot,

So he was gone, and Flynn was in his place.

Carter's shooting echoes "Captain 1", Carter in "Captain 1" misses, and Carter in this universe successfully kills Hydra.

Secondly, Steve was also shot and could not continue the super soldier experiment, so Carter played the serum instead of her.

The episode of Carter playing the serum is a complete re-enactment of "Captain America 1".

Carter's actions violate the sacred timeline, in which she will be arrested by TVA.

And the person left behind from this timeline is dead, so she hasn't been arrested.

"I think it was a big success," Howard said, paying tribute to "Avengers 4."

Flynn, however, was annoyed by this and felt that giving a woman a serum was a complete waste of money.

It's normal if you don't know Flynn, as he didn't appear in Captain America 1, but instead in Marvel's One-Shot series of shorts, Agent Carter.

The "Agent Carter" short film is equivalent to a prequel to the series, telling the story of Carter before he founded S.H.I.E.L.D.

Flynn was one of the commanders of the Strategic Science Corps (the predecessor to S.H.I.E.L.D.), and he was in trouble for Carter.

Carter wanted to work in the field, but Flynn wanted her to be a clerk.

In the evening, Flynn and his colleagues went out for drinks.

Carter single-handedly dismantled criminal organizations.

Instead of praising Carter, Flynn scolded her for disobedience.

The reason why he criticized Carter was very simple. Carter completed their task after he had a drink. The wine was still hot when he came back, which made him feel very embarrassed. "Allusions.

At the end of the short film, Flynn received a call from Howard. Howard said he wanted Carter to come to Washington and set up S.H.I.E.L.D. with him, which made Flynn feel that Howard had slapped him in the face.

Speaking of "What If", Carter stepped on the shield and threw the shield, both of which are the signature moves of the US team.

Playing sandbags pays tribute to the end-credits eggs of "Captain America 1".

Steve said that Carter might be sent to the Army show and military propaganda, which Howard later mentioned, referring to the plot of "Captain America 1".

Steve said: "I've never been a very good dancer.

Carter said: Maybe you haven't found the right partner.

This echoes the conversation they had on their way to the experiment.

In fact, in this universe, they also had this conversation, but we didn't see it, because this conversation happened before the experiment.

The Red Skull grabbing space gems is also a complete re-enactment of "Captain America 1".

Howard said they detected gamma radiation, because the radiation from the Infinity Stones is gamma radiation.

After Loki stole the space gem in "Avengers 1", Nick Fury asked Banner to help, because Banner was irradiated by gamma rays, and he knew a lot about gamma rays.

This is also the reason why he snapped his fingers in "Avengers 4".

Carter successfully unlocks the superhero landing.

Carter to Steve: You owe me a dance.

That's exactly what Steve said in Captain America 2.

Because the person who played the serum became Carter, it became Steve owes Carter a dance.

Carter threw a motorcycle to pay tribute to "Avengers 2".

When Carter went to rescue prisoners of war, he saw a bearded man named Timothy Duggan, a member of the Howling Commando, and he was also featured in "Captain 1".

He reappeared in "Agent Carter", where he also invited Carter to join the Howling Commando, but Carter declined.

In "What If", Carter not only joined the Howling Commando, but also became the captain.

In "Agent Carter", Dugan nicknamed Carter Miss "Miziqi".

In "What If", Carter put on the Union Jack uniform and became the captain of the United Kingdom.

The pit that Marvel dug in "Agent Carter" has a sequel six years later.

You can always believe in Marvel's ability to fill the hole, as long as the hole is dug, it will be filled.

Carter leads the Howling Commandos out of the POW camp and also pays tribute to "Captain America 1".

Steve didn't become a super soldier, but he became Iron Man by accident.

Carter said she wanted to dance, a tribute to Captain America 1.

Carter's bombing of tanks pays homage to "Captain America 1".

The US team first pulled the driver out and then threw the grenade. Carter threw the grenade directly, because the US team had the principle of no kill, but Carter did not.

Steve said cheering for Carter together, which was what Bucky had said to him.

Carter's MV pays homage to "Captain 1".

Before Flynn had no respect for Carter at all, saying that giving her serum was a waste of money, now he changed his mind, saying that he was very proud, and that he had already said that Carter was a trump card, and sure enough, all men were eels.

He has changed so much, which also indicates that he will turn his face again in the future.

Carter says whiskey didn't work for her, homage to Captain America 1.

Steve said: I can only rely on a mech.

Carter said: Without you, the mecha is worthless.

This echoes Steve's lines in "Reunion 1".

What Carter meant was that the important thing was not the suit, but the people inside the suit.

That's what Dr. Erskine said.

In Iron Man 3, Tony proves that he is still Iron Man without a suit.

In "What If", Steve is still the US team without playing the serum, and he still has Carter's respect.

In Captain America 1, Steve got the serum, we can't assume if he didn't get the serum, Carter would still love him, and in "What If" we got the answer - whether Steve had it or not Playing serum, Carter will fall in love with him, because she loves Steve inside.

Carter said Bucky didn't dare to pick up the train, echoing his falling off the train in Captain America 1.

Bucky did fall off the train, but Carter caught him.

Bucky said Carter nearly ripped his arm off, echoing the live-action movie where he broke his hand and got a robotic arm.

I have to say that the shot of Carter entering the castle in the moonlight is too handsome.

Red Skull used the Space Gem to summon the Beholder, the octopus-like monster.

Does the beholder look familiar?

This is because it is played by Luo Zhixiang.

In the comics, it fights with Doctor Strange many times, and there are rumors that it is the villain of "Doctor Strange 2".

Mephisto: What about me?

you? none of your business.

But the beholder should only be the villain on the surface. The real mastermind behind the scenes is Kang the Conqueror. After all, someone has secretly filmed the video of the conspiracy between Kang the Conqueror and the beholder.

The beholder is one of the most dangerous creatures in the multiverse, it ruled the earth before the birth of mankind, but was eventually expelled.

Now it exists in another dimension, eager to satisfy its appetite by devouring the earth.

The comic confirms that the Beholder is one of the six most dangerous villains, the other five being Planet Devourer, Annihilator, Thanos, Apocalypse, and the never-before-seen, but most popular, Mephisto.

In the live-action movie, Steve saves Bucky.

In "What If", Bucky saves Steve.

In the live-action movie, Bucky fell off a cliff and Steve thought he was dead, but he was actually saved by Hydra.

In "What If", Steve falls off a cliff and Bucky thinks he's dead, but he's actually saved by Hydra.

If the protagonist group hadn't discovered Steve in time, he might have been transformed into the Winter Soldier, and "Captain America 2" would have turned into a battle between Carter and Steve.

And when Carter and Black Widow were avoiding Hydra, Black Widow would kiss Carter to divert Hydra's attention.

Before Steve can say his catchphrase, Bucky stops him.

Carter holds a big sword in one hand and a shield in the other, paying tribute to "Wonder Woman", no, paying tribute to "Avengers 4", but replacing Thor's Hammer with a big sword.

The conversation between Carter and Steve once again pays homage to Captain America 1.

Carter pushed the beholder back into its universe, paying homage to Avengers.

The difference is that Iron Man in "Avengers 1" came out just in time before the portal closed, but Carter didn't.

Her return to Earth paid tribute to "Avengers 1" and "Captain 1".

The end was tragic, and Carter learned that 70 years had passed since the Earth.

Do you think that only Carter and Steve in the main universe can't HE? Even in other universes, they still can't HE, and they are still destined to have no relationship.

Next Carter will visit the elderly Steve, attend Steve's funeral, and then travel back in time in 2023 to make up for the missed dance.

However, it is more likely that she will not travel to the past, nor will she make up for the missed dance, but will regret it forever, for reasons we will discuss later.

Why does it take Carter 70 years to come and go, because the beholder is a master of time management, and one day equals 70 years in his dimension (it's not).

The end-credits observer said: I don't want to, can't, and won't interfere.

Observer?

I see you as an interferer.

In the comics, observers often interfere with humans, but only indirectly, such as through the Fantastic Four and Nick Fury.

So I guess it's the same in What If, he'll still interfere directly or indirectly with humans, like bringing heroes from different universes together to protect the universe, and they'll appear again in Doctor Strange 2.

Now that Carter has been in another universe for 70 years, this will have a huge impact on the entire universe.

For example, the first director of S.H.I.E.L.D. will not be Carter, maybe it will be Steve.

This explains why Nick Fury doesn't know his predecessors.

And if Bucky didn't fall off a cliff, then he wouldn't be the Winter Soldier.

Since Hydra doesn't have the Winter Soldier, it wouldn't have happened that Hydra sent the Winter Soldier to assassinate the Howards.

Second, Flynn took Carter's blood to reverse-engineer the supersoldier serum.

Then 50 years later, in the 90s, S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a lot of serum, and Hydra will not have to take the risk to assassinate the Howards.

The Howards were not assassinated, but instead lived to this day, and they would be good friends with Steve.

Instead of being Tony's teammate, Steve became his uncle.

Likewise, Bucky would be Tony's uncle, not his enemy.

Tony didn't lose his parents since he was a child, and he didn't have the grief of the death of his parents. Maybe he wouldn't be Iron Man at all.

He won't become Iron Man, he won't die because of snapping his fingers, instead he will be in the same room with his parents, wife and daughter, and be happy.

He does not need to live a life of fighting and killing, but can enjoy the love of a father and pass it on to his daughter at the same time. He can have parents and children at the same time, and he can also be a son and a father at the same time.

He will not be absent from his daughter's life, but will accompany her as she grows up, witnessing her to set up her family and have her children.

In another year, he'll hear the little guy call him "Grandpa" inarticulately.

He suddenly discovered that it was good to be an ordinary person.

What Tony in the main universe could not dream of, is a fact that actually happened in another universe.

Tony didn't become Iron Man, but Iron Man will become very common, because in this universe, the birth of the Iron Man suit is more than 60 years ahead of the main universe, and Steve will teach the younger generation how to operate the Iron Man suit.

Super soldier serum would be so common that Banner wouldn't have to experiment with gamma radiation, which would mean the universe never had a Hulk.

The Red Skull was not transported to outer space by the Space Gem, but was killed by the Beholder, then he would not be the guardian of the Soul Gem.

After the space gem is turned on again, it is not Loki, but Carter who is sent to the earth. There will be no Loki to steal the space gem, and no Nick Fury to prevent Loki from establishing a reunion.

Maybe the Avengers will never be established, or the time of establishment will be greatly delayed, and the members will be very different from the main universe.

Tony didn't become Iron Man, he didn't join the Avengers, he wouldn't invent the time machine, and Carter wouldn't be able to travel to the past to make up for the missed dance.

Steve of the main universe eventually made up for his regrets, but Carter's regrets of this universe will always be regrets.

Maybe Thanos' plan will be launched ahead of schedule, maybe the observers will gather the heroes of this universe, but they still can't resist Thanos, so they have to ask Doctor Strange in the main universe for help...

When Carter chose to stay in the laboratory, it was such a small change that caused the entire universe to have a completely different trajectory.

But there are some things that won't change, such as whether or not he gets the serum, Steve will prove that he is a kind person.

Whether Steve is strong or thin, Carter will fall in love with him because she doesn't care how he looks.

Another example is Bucky will always be a hero.

"What If" is in the form of a unit series, each episode is a separate story, but I suspect each episode is interconnected, like the first phase of the MCU.

For example, episode 2 will tell that T'Challa did not become Black Panther, but became Star-Lord.

Is it possible that it was because Carter took the serum instead of Steve, which had a butterfly effect, which caused T'Challa to become Star-Lord instead of Black Panther decades later?

It was precisely because T'Challa did not become a black panther that this incident had a butterfly effect, which led to changes in the entire history of Wakanda, and also led to a completely different life trajectory for the leopard.

In 2008, he went to the United States and rescued Tony by accident. As a result, Tony was not kidnapped by the Ten Rings Gang, and he did not become Iron Man.

And Tony did not become Iron Man, and the butterfly effect occurred, which led to the earth-shaking changes of the entire universe step by step.

And all this is because Carter chose to stay in the laboratory.

The slightest change, multiplied by 80 years, becomes infinitely large, so large that it affects the entire universe.

I'm guessing that, as in the first phase of the MCU, although the first few episodes of "What If" are separate stories, in the next few episodes they will meet each other by accident, maybe it is the result of the observers, and they will form a team.

After all, in the trailer, we saw the picture of them gathering, Carter, Black Panther, Gamora, Star-Lord T'Challa, and Thor gathered together.

So who are they rallying to fight?

It could be Thanos, or beholders, because beholders are a multiverse threat.

Beholder: So I'm the new Mephisto?

And I'm guessing we'll see Carter or more characters join Doctor Strange 2 in the end credits of episode 9.

Because the trailer has a variant of Carter meeting Doctor Strange, and there are rumors that Captain Carter will appear in Doctor Strange 2.

This rumor is also justified, after all, "Doctor Strange 2" is equivalent to a live-action version of "What If".

And observers say that Carter's choice brings a new hero to the multiverse.

Imagine seeing the live-action Captain Carter on the big screen, what would it be like?

If the above guesses are correct, it means that while "What If" tells the story of the main universe from another angle, it is also part of the MCU.

While "What If" takes place in other universes, it's still possible that these characters will appear in live-action films, such as Captain Carter and the Beholder.

Since Captain Carter and the beholder may appear in Doctor Strange 2, Bucky, and even skinny Steve, may appear in Doctor Strange 2.

That's right, "What If" provides a way to return to Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow... characters who have passed away or retired.

Because the multiverse has been opened, there is always a universe of Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow... still active.

In the trailer, we saw Black Widow from other universes, and maybe she will appear again in the live-action movie.

Since they come from other universes, they naturally look different from Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow... in the main universe, just like other versions of Loki in "Rocky".

Of course, Downey, Mr. Tao, Scarlett... It is also possible to return. The way to return is already there. The key is whether they want to return.

High remuneration is not a problem. After all, the benefits of movies and peripherals are much higher than the remuneration. The most important thing is whether the actors want to return.

"What If" even revealed how "Black Panther 2" will be filmed.

In the trailer, we see Black Panther and T'Challa in the same frame.

Since T'Challa is Star-Lord, who is the Black Panther?

We'll get the answer in the next few episodes.

And TA will not only become a black panther in "What If", maybe he will also become a black panther in "Black Panther 2".

It is even possible that TA first became the Black Panther in "What If", and then appeared again in "Black Panther 2" to continue the story of TA as the Black Panther.

Finally, let's talk about Deng Chao, don't you think he is very suspicious? He was actually related to the Beholder and Kang the Conqueror.

Could it be that he is Mephisto?
