Gepier's nose is like a mountain

After watching "Shadow Army", the most unforgettable detail is the faces of the two actors.

Jepiye (Lino Ventura ornaments) black-rimmed round glasses, a high nose like a mountain, and a few forehead lines. Always wear a knee-length trench coat, leather shoes and trousers, a round hat, and a short scarf. He hardly smiled, with the rational coldness necessary for a leader.

Gepier is very large, with a natural sense of heaviness in his gestures. When I looked at his profile, I found out that he was a professional wrestler before he became an actor by accident. No wonder it looks so domineering and calm.

Compared to Jepier, François (Jean-Pierre Cassel) is very "lightweight", he has blue eyes, a sly smile, a quick pace , like a cynical rich boy brother. His son is the now-famous French actor Vincent Cassel. Vincent looks exactly like his father when he was young. They are both handsome guys.

In addition, Melville is a director who is very good at using voice and silence, whether it is the footsteps of the German army marching in the Arc de Triomphe, or the loud but lonely clock ticking in the late-night Hotel Jepiere waiting for the answer of a strange man to take action. Or the unstoppable gasp of Jebbie rushing into the barber shop after escaping from the hotel, which makes your original tense and chilling atmosphere even more tense and chilling.

The underground party kept evading, hiding, being in danger, being rescued, and sacrificing... Watching this movie, I wanted to keep tugging at my heart. I thought that Jepyier (there would be a protagonist halo, but in the end, no one survived and died in different ways.) Different. I wonder if "Is it worth it" flashed in their minds at the moment of death. War is inherently inhuman, rational, and civilized, and it regards life as grass.
