Closed town, simple life, this is how Tuao lives! They don't need the world, they just need themselves.

Since the new crown epidemic, Tu and Australia have been unfriendly to us, and even started to act as the vanguard of anti-China in 2021. Obviously, the economic and trade exchanges with China are very close, and many industry products are mainly sold in China, but people are so ZUO, they must do things.

Many Chinese people are very confused about Tuao's practice, and exclaimed that there is such a god's operation?

In fact, the exchanges between countries are not as we imagined, with the sole purpose of doing business. You know, the United States at the beginning of the last century also pursued isolationism. Sometimes, some countries with large population or resources have such a complex of small countries and few people, and are not willing to have a very close relationship with them. Sometimes they even take the initiative to cut off communication between the two parties because they are afraid of each other. These are very common in history, not the Tuao family. Like when we were in the late Qing Dynasty, didn't we close the country and live on our own?

Having said so much, I want to understand the culture of a country or the people of that country, and still get some knowledge from their own film and television dramas. For example, this book "Small Town Hunting".

It has been twenty years since Alan left the town where he was born. One day he suddenly received a letter informing him of the death of his childhood friend Luke, asking him to come back for the funeral. Somehow, he returned to his hometown after many years, back to this closed town.

When watching a lot of European and American films, I found that they have prosperous metropolises, and at the same time there are some quite backward and ignorant small towns. Such small towns either live on agriculture or on resources and have a small population, but often fall into some kind of depression. In a small town, people know each other, not only know each other, but also can trace their ancestors for several generations, a typical acquaintance society. And this kind of town is very vigilant to outsiders, even hostile. They are reluctant to break their social boundaries and view external influences as flood beasts.

The small town and the people in the small town are not willing to take the initiative to change themselves, and even less willing to be passively changed by external forces. In such a tangle, many conflicts and persecutions and even murders often occur. So many small town stories are suspense dramas. So is this movie!

I love a movie that tells a good story in its entirety, and it would be even better if the movie could tell two good stories.

Of course it did. Sometimes when I see the middle of the plot and I can't understand the plot, I will go back and watch it again to deepen my understanding of the story.

This movie has two main lines: light and dark:

The bright line is that Alan returns to find out the truth about the murder of Luke's family;

The dark thread is Ellen trying to figure out the backstory of Ellie's death twenty years ago.

What drives the plot is the character's lies. Allen also lied back then, and Camille was no exception, let alone Luke. He is the fabricator of many lies.

Behind the scenes, both truths are found. It's just that Yiren has passed away, and the settlement is only the knot in the hearts of the living.

The dead will not care about how they live in the future, "relatives or sorrows, others have already sung", there will be no joys and sorrows in the world. As one of the spectators at the funeral said, he didn't come to participate in the funeral, he just wanted to drink some beer after the funeral. Grief is not his!

But the word of death is very important to the living, and they must give themselves an account. This is of course in an environment like a small town. Everyone needs the evaluation of others. If it is in a metropolis with tens of millions of people, how much is the evaluation of others worth?

A closed town, self-righteous residents, a carefree life, relying on God's reward to eat, Tuao lives in its own world. They don't need China, they just need themselves!
