The film’s strengths are mainly in two points:
First, a good suspense story is used as a framework. The beginning is quite "Hitchcock", and there are several brilliant court scenes and a line of detection that is struggling to seek clues. The pace is not slow until the end of the ending, this cat and mouse game makes people scream.
Second, the two acting schools, one old and one young, are very exciting. Many people may say that Hopkins is still the same "Hannibal" style, but it is this style, plus an old and old style. Mi Jian's graceful elegance is amazing again. As for the end, is Lao Lianpo still able to eat, or Zhou Yu's high spirits?
The only thing that dissatisfied me is the role of Rosamund Pike, which seems a bit redundant.
