sci-fi boilerplate

The first thing that needs to be reminded of the audience is that almost every character in this sci-fi show is an idiot. If you want to see a film about humans working together to explore Mars with the blessing of technology in the future, then forget it. This drama is more of a family ethics drama, and it is not bad to change the plot to the mother going on a business trip to the field with poor signal.

It can be clearly felt that this is a stylized model drama guided by the spirit of "political correctness". It is neither reasonable nor reasonable to create a plot in order to include some elements in the play. These elements are bluntly stacked together, which is extremely funny.

The main plot elements are:

- International cooperation, but the US is still the leader

- Diversity, LGBT

- Crisis of trust among team members

- failure = good repair, bad repair

- The space mission is very dangerous = everything you do is likely to die; the astronauts don't know anything because it is the first time to do it (including the theoretical knowledge and training are not felt, making the audience feel nervous)

- Control center political struggle

- Heroism = The people in the ground control center are all idiots and have no effect. You can only rely on the wisdom of the heroine, otherwise the whole mission will be over. The heroine is better than all the scientists in the world.

- Missing family = "Ah, I don't want to go to Mars", "I miss home", "Ah my daughter, my husband", "Ah, ah, ah, I want to go home"; non-stop video with family members , chat, email (like on vacation)

- Health problems = infectious diseases, emotional instability, blindness

- Family trouble = paralyzed husband, rebellious daughter, daughter injured, emotional problems

- Adolescent rebellious daughter creates problems

- Put tension on the audience = "Wow, everything in space is so dangerous, the astronauts are at a loss"; every part of the mission will go wrong every minute; no one knows what to do when something goes wrong (except the heroine and husband); The question is the first time I see it, "What should we do!? (panic)"

- Relationship between team members = hostility, distrust, love

Space is already an attractive subject, and astronauts are not ordinary people, but a magnified "person". The elements of these plots don't need to resonate by pulling down the level of astronauts and making the audience feel friendly (wow astronauts are as vulnerable as us ordinary people). But then it takes writers to understand what space travel really is, what science is, what astronauts are, and what it means to be a human explorer. On these bases, add the elements needed in the TV series. Obviously, this kind of requirement is too difficult for Hollywood screenwriters, and their wildest fantasies are only at the level of traveling far away.

When I read it, I wrote some complaints and summaries, as follows:

========================Spoilers =========================

Episode 1: The inexperienced crew member who was going to Mars for the first time in space recklessly dealt with the accident. The commander made a misjudgment and almost burned the spacecraft. The other team members defected almost immediately and prepared to fire the commander. The commander's husband is paralyzed, he's crying so hard, I want to go home. The captain of the Mars Project Group B is an incompetent guy who can't be changed. In the end, this group of people lifted off in response to each other.

Episode 2: The theme is to rebuild the team members' trust in the mentally retarded commander, especially Maozi, through an incident. There is nothing wrong with the theme and content. The funny thing is that the risk of walking too fast is infinitely magnified. The people in the NASA command center are all mentally handicapped. The commander chats with his family more frequently than junior high school couples chat on QQ every day.

Episode 3: This is probably the best episode of Shari's Gold Rush yet. The theme is the story of the Chinese astronaut's Plato LES relationship, and finally Captain America comes to fulfill this relationship. Maozi still feels that same-sex love is abnormal. This LGBT element is an indispensable component of the diversification of contemporary Hollywood, and it is not blunt when added to the plot.

After watching the fifth episode, the captain of the human first Mars expedition spacecraft will be too busy to worry about his daughter's poor test results and call the teacher to ask her to retake the test; if you don't believe the people in the NASA command center, you need to ask her husband how to repair the spacecraft; There are thousands of unique parts in the core water filter of the ship. A ship will explode if it is wrongly installed; if the real-time communication is cut off, I am overwhelmed and crying, like a corpse saying goodbye. Don't screenwriters watch documentaries? ?

Episode 8: The cargo ship may be over. Commander: Yeah, I'm going home to reunite with my husband and daughter! go home! Team member: Let's figure out how to get to Mars. Commander's husband: Come back and reunite with us! Crew member: The cargo ship may be fine. Commander: I suddenly remembered that I am an astronaut and not a tourist. Everyone decided to try going to Mars.

Episode 9: The water maker is completely broken. Team member: There is no way we can wait to die. nasa: No way. The heroine's husband Commander's husband: We can get the water out of the hull. Team member: It is very likely that the operation of piercing the hull and then leaking air and suffocating must all gather in one operation in yundong casual clothes. Wow, really pierced, run for your life. Let's continue to wait and write. Commander's husband: Let's think of a way. nasa: Ask the team members to write their last words. Team members: There is water coming out of the cabin for maintenance. Let’s play with snowflakes first. Anyway, water is not scarce. This time, I won't starve to death, the captain commander and deputy commander sparked a spark
