"Sweet Homeland" has had a high score of 8.2 since its release, but after a round of broadcasts, it has dropped to 7.9. At the beginning of its release, everyone was attracted by its zombies, apocalypse, blood, horror and other elements. Just like "Resident Evil", this kind of bloody horror close-up of zombies has become our dinner drama.
"Sweet Home" is adapted from the comic book "Sweet Home" of the same name. The comic has over 1.2 billion views worldwide, ranking first in the major lists related to comics. It was arrogantly spent and filmed at a cost of 3 billion won per episode (about 17.85 million yuan)!
But now, when the plot is different from the original, there is a dispute between the original party about the quality of the adaptation of the work. The first half is okay, the setting of desire to transform into monsters, immortality, and infinite evolution is also considered novel, which makes everyone enjoy it. And most of the acting skills are in the middle-aged. Among them, the rogue uncle Li Zhenyu is the most brilliant, with a burnt face, and of course our wheelchair uncle Kim Sang-ho, and the rest of the young actors can only be considered passable.
In addition, the director obviously focuses on the rhythm of the picture and the story itself, and outlines the original definition of "because of the desire of the human heart", which is very intentional. In the original comics, the most exciting part is that the desire, dissatisfaction, and pain of everyone in the "home" are presented in the form of zombie evolution, revealing thought-provoking issues. Especially as a group portrait film, its characteristic is that the characters and the plot complement each other, and each of them is brilliant, and the theme of the play is used to pave the way to promote the development of the story. The original theme itself is novel, and a large number of inner monologues make the stories behind each character easy to understand. This is the characteristic and advantage of comics.
Thriller and excitement are not to be faulted, but they are too straightforward to narrate. A story with a lot of metaphors, but not induced in the direction of metaphors, is more concerned about rhythm control, which is a relatively unsuccessful part. But even so, I think if the second season can improve a little bit, it can be regarded as a good work. Looking forward to the second season!
