The setting of this show is great. When the United States was building a large-scale railway, the capitalists brought ship after ship of coolies from China in order to reduce the cost. The coolies were drawn a big cake, saying that they came to the United States to make money, San Francisco was full of gold, and they could not speak the language, so they went to the United States alone. After I came, I found that it was not the case. I will not say how hard the process of building the railway was. After the railway was built, I would be trapped in China Town. White people with a little education can still use Chinese people, but the white people at the bottom start MAGA?
Then the Irish-born union took the lead in attacking the Chinese. Those coolies were weak, could not speak, and no one cared if they died.
Irish Labour Party in the first episode
Then came the conclusion:
With this divine logic, finally the Chinese Exclusion Act was passed, and anti-China sentiment was running high.
According to wikipedia, evictions and massacres followed, "Following the passing of the Chinese Exclusion Act, a period known as the "Driving Out" era was born. In this period, anti-Chinese Americans physically forced Chinese communities to flee to other areas . Large scale violence in Western states included The Rock Springs Chinese Massacre (1885) and the Hells Canyon Massacre of 1887."
In the play, there can still be a male protagonist like Ashan to fight a bunch of people, but what about the coolies in reality.
Time comes to 2016, understand Wang came to power in the voice of MAGA white people.
How familiar history is.
