Really dizzy this time!

Laughing makes my stomach hurt. Fun, surreal cannabis movie!
Please relax, don't look for any deep spiritual connotation just because this is a drug-themed movie. Making this movie was a holiday that Gregg Araki gave himself. Everything is simple. The heroine overdose on marijuana, got stoned, and then her world was transformed, and everything that happened was hilarious.
If you don't know who director Gregg Araki is, this movie can give you 90 minutes of honesty, color, and enough psychedelic, nympho. If you're familiar with every Araki film before, you'll laugh harder this time around.

I actually had a face-to-face chat with the film's director (that's Araki~~) - before I saw Smiley Face, of course. As a result, he said, "Oh, you haven't seen it, so it's a pity, this is really a very "fun" movie. At that time, I just heard that his style has become very powerful this time, and I asked him for confirmation. His answer was, "That's right! Compared with before, it's just yin and yang!" Yin means before, and yang means SF. Still, I was surprised when I finally saw the film. If you've seen any of Mysterious Skin, Nowhere, The Doomed Generation, The Living End, you know what I mean. =)

Araki called it "A stoner movie," or marijuana, and it's now a genre of American independent film. Although marijuana is played by almost every director, it was really rare to see such a straightforward marijuana film as he did sincerely and simply. All the characters are so comical, exaggerated, funny, thirteen. As far as an independent film is concerned, the cast is already very strong, not to mention that many of the popular little stars only have a few minutes in it. Thanks to Araki's previous accumulation, it would be hard to imagine anyone willing to help. He's such a joke. . . . Speaking of movies, the ingenious sense of humor, exaggerated colors, excellent music, and those little inspirations that sparkle with wisdom, these all bear the typical Araki-style imprint, but the tone is completely different, it is... sunny! ! ! In fact, drugs often appeared in Araki's films in the past, but they were all gloomy, with a sense of fate and sinking. But who said drug themes have to be painful? Just like a funny movie! And, after he's funny, you can still feel his underlying critique of drugs. Although in such a hilarious tone, although there is no preaching at all, you can definitely understand the desolation behind the laughter.

(The evaluation of this film is really mixed to the extreme. The score on imdb is either 1 or 10. The total score is an embarrassing 5.x. It is a strange phenomenon, either love or hate, actually There is no middle point. I really want to know what the mindset of people with these two extremes is.)

  • Jane F.: They say that true potheads stops getting the munchies after a certain point. I mean the true pothead wouldn't even say the word munchies. I dont know what the true pothead would say."munchos" or "hungries" or something. At any rate, I still love to eat when I'm high. So fuck you if you're too cool to get hungry when you're stoned.
