I've watched almost 8 episodes and I can't stop watching.
I think the character of Peter III in the film is the portrayal of the production team of this show. A sociopathic Oedipus kid who makes boring adult jokes every day.
At the beginning of the whole play, it still pretends to be serious, telling a young girl full of love fairy tales to embark on a dangerous and exotic road. The reality full of idealism and blood is quite dramatic.
As a result, I started to shed blood after half an episode, and my san value went crazy. Being a comedy, I can understand the depiction of the Russian court as not like a functioning state hub. But it's not like the emperor will take people everywhere every day like dogs mating with gans in the lobby. All the violence, sex, and swear words in the plot are without any reason, neither humorous nor fun nor sarcastic. It feels like the director and screenwriter are like a 56-year-old child, lying on the ground and rolling around freely to release their excess "energy".
With obsessive-compulsive disorder and the mentality of "just watch it after watching the beginning, at least the heroine's character has not completely collapsed." I continued to watch a few episodes. It turned out that it was really "wonderful" as it went on. The director and screenwriter were like a hippopotamus with a bad stomach, so even though I was a little wary, I was still slapped with shit. One by one, the main and supporting roles you will sing and I will appear, and they will take turns to show their boring and low intelligence. Not only the villain continued to have diarrhea, but the queen, duke and maid also collapsed. The team planning the coup d'état made frequent moves, and the only driving force to keep the protagonist's immortal plot moving forward was the more idiotic and illogical behavior of Peter III and the old school. The queen has also been completely reduced from an idealist to a silly white sweet. The pain of being frustrated by reality at the beginning of the queen was not particularly expressive, and the shouting of equal human rights after that was even more pale, funny but not funny. In the boring plot where various forces revolved around the emperor and repeated "I'd better everyone else want to harm you" over and over again, I completely lost my last patience for this drama.
I have always felt that comedy should have its own attitude. Even if there is no black humor like Louis CK, at least it should express the helpless carnival of small people like nonsense comedy. This drama seems to be telling the story of Russia and Europe in a British accent, but it is actually just a low-level American brainless farce. I don't think brainless farce has no meaning, I also like American Pie, the pure presumptuousness of the Scream series. But this broken drama has neither the madness that a brainless farce should have, nor any satire of reality, just an evil kid trying to be funny with a boring adult joke.
