"Singing" is the end of my "can't watch trilogy"

I finally finished the third part of my "Can't Watch Trilogy". If "To Wonderland" is a fog, "Knight of the Holy Grail" is a river, and "The Song of Songs" is a building block scattered all over the place. I think the reason why this one is worse than the first two is that it has coherent dialogue and an easy-to-capture plot, which makes it half abstract and half concrete, so it can no longer be compared with Terrence Malick. Jump cuts and large jumps in time and space. The film lacks that thin invisible line connecting, resulting in a cutting plot. Then there's the abuse of the soundtrack. It all adds up to more beautiful photography that Malick can't make up for. The themes of the film have included music, love, betrayal, sex and desire, and a bit of religion, and later mixed with family and affection is really saturated. Rooney Mara, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett's sisters are really good looking, especially Rooney Mara, many of the shots in it are distorted like that, and they still look so good . In the end, I think I found an experimental way to watch a movie like Malick, that is, in front of the screen, he swayed and I swayed, and he walked along with me, which made it more immersive with his hand.

No suspense, no story, no climax, no acting, just an emotion, which is Malick's style. Those audiences who were bewildered and beat one star angrily thought they had gone through the wrong door.

I fell asleep after watching it for 10 minutes yesterday. I really want to test Dr. Malick's Philosophy.

  • Faye: Mercy was just a word. I never thought I needed it. Not as much as other people do.
