Too many disconnections, no logic

The first half did not seem to be a thriller at all. It felt like a family ethics drama with an old husband and a young wife. I remember that the style of painting suddenly changed, and I went to the gloomy Irish country villa. Yes, it's a bit awkward.

In the second half, there are various flashbacks and interlaces of space and time, and it is unclear whether the male protagonist is shuttled in consciousness or the distortion of space has really occurred.

The male protagonist's daughter was lost for no reason, and what was found was also inexplicable.

There are also a couple of storylines that seem a bit broken:

What is the role of a grocery store owner? Ordinary melon eaters watching the fun, or accomplices of the devil?

The car that the male protagonist's family almost collided with, why did he act like he almost collided? Also escaped?

The strange old lady who was standing next to the car after the male protagonist finished shopping for groceries, said two strange words and left, what was the purpose?

The male protagonist left "You should leave immediately" in his notebook. Who wrote "It's too late" on the next page?

Who the hell is Stetler?

Recently, there are quite a lot of movies in Europe and the United States. Are they all caused by the epidemic?
