The crowd is the flock, and there is truth in the rough

What impressed me the most was the music teacher who rehearsed Mozart. Did she do something wrong? No, not wrong at all, being abused and expelled by the principal.

Is it necessary to abuse and fire the music teacher? It seems unnecessary, this is just a small episode.

Extreme characters and practices do not require reason and morality. The music teacher was just out of luck.

The confused crowd needs strong guidance, firmness and uncompromising uncompromising. Just as the flock needs a shepherd.

I am reminded of Hitler and the teacher in another movie called The Tide.

The crowd is full of irrationality, like a storm. Reasonable and rational people will not win the hearts of the people. Those who are rude, always right, and full of emotions, always point the way (even if they are wrong) are the shepherds that the crowd needs.

On the first day of entering the school gate, sweep the scum out of the door. Can you do that now? I don't even dare. PS, Freeman was so heroic when he was "young"!

Lean on Me quotes

  • Joe Clark: [in a conference room at city hall] Don't talk to me about saving those kids. The mayor wants to save his budget. And you wanna save your ass!

Dr. Frank Napier: Well, so what? You want the truth?

Joe Clark: Yeah, Frank. Let's have some truth.

Dr. Frank Napier: The truth is that for all your talking, all your 'Crazy Joe' routine, what have you ever done? Nothing. You're nothing but an insignificant man. It's like you were never born. Your life hasn't made one bit of difference, and neither has mine. Wanna take that to the grave?

  • Joe Clark: [to the Eastside students who have gathered outside City Hall to demonstrate on his behalf] I wonder why I can't get this kind of turnout for study hall!
