I don't think this drama was released without intention. Gospel means the teaching or revelation of Christ. In this drama, I take the interpretation of gospel as the teaching or revelation of psychedelic. It's a different feeling, especially the fifth episode is also my favorite episode.
I think this show is called an adult animation. I think it's not because of the content of the restricted level, but because the meaning of the cartoon in one episode of thirty-six minutes is not understood by the majority of teenagers, such as the fifth episode mentioned. The dimethyltryptamine (dmt) thing needs to watch a documentary to understand
This drama also mentioned mysticism, including many religious terms, some of which I can understand are the terms in Tibetan Buddhism. For details, please refer to the fifth episode of "Tibetan Book of Living and Dying". It also reminded me of the movie "Escape into Nothingness".
But I feel like that's not the main purpose of this episode, it's a kind of gospel that awakens everyone to reflect on existentialism. The scene where the last prisoner breaks the prison and recovers the tongue reminds me of the moment when the matrix breaks the matrix.
That's my experience with the Midnight Gospel in general, each episode trying to awaken a fragment of consciousness in my life.
