Robin Williams is a veteran actor I like very much. His temperament is simple and kind, but also full of melancholy and sadness. But compared with other veteran actors, it seems that Robin Williams has few opportunities to show his acting skills. Due to his participation in a large number of comedy films, he is almost positioned as a comedian. There is a chance to see a few films such as The Butler.
In "Midnight Listeners" Robin Williams plays a gay radio host who has just fallen out of love, and his life is at a low point. A young boy tells him about a horrific experience on the phone, and he tries to find out the truth, only to find that the boy doesn't seem to exist. And another old woman is trying her best to protect the boy's existence.

(February 5, 2010) A story about the interaction of the mind that tells and listens to a suspense-modified story, the idea and setting are a little bit playful, the basis of 3 stars. It's a pity that nothing can be achieved on this basis. The communication between people is just a click away without tension. The explanation given at the end of the film is - "too lonely", these three words actually drive the protagonist Traveling through mountains and rivers to find this "wonderful" audience is boring.

The Night Listener quotes

  • Gabriel Noone: Charles Dickens wrote Pete Logand was only 12 when his parents sent him to make boot polish in a factory by the docks. This screwed him up forever and made him a writer. I think we've all got a blacking factory, some terrible something that makes us lose our baby heart as surely as we lose our baby teeth.

  • Pap Noone: Just say goodbye to the little prick

    Darlie Noone: What? Little prick?

Pap Noone: He can handle that.

Gabriel Noone: I can handle big ones, actually.
