I just recently read the history of the United States in the 1920s, so I can feel it better. I finished watching it with full English subtitles; when I didn't watch it, I thought the title was pretty good, and after I finished it, I thought the title was terrible. A teen film set in the Depression Era, about sex, patriarchy, women's status, "The Jazz Age", "The Lost Generation"…
I also understand the meaning of "splendor in the grass", how can the meeting scene of the two people not make people sigh! "splendor in the grass" is a line from the English poet Wordsworth: What though the radiance which was once so bright Be now for ever taken from my sight, Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower We will grieve not, but rather find Strength in what remains behind. Beginning with the first kiss in film history, Natalie Wood was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress for Splendor in the Grass, which is also the Len Beatty's first starring film, and Warren Beatty also fell madly in love with Natalie Wood on the set, but Natalie Wood, then 22, was married to actor Robert Wagner, but then divorced and the two got together, but unfortunately, Warren Beatty was an amorous man, and the two eventually parted ways.
