At this age, I don't dare to look at the troubles of growing up.

In March 2020, they stayed at home and chatted with Lao Zha and Ding Hui about growing up in the group, and summed it up:

1. The family is perfect. The American middle class is a specimen, and the show also talks about the morality and family values of the white American middle class.

2. There is only beauty, which is different from my love for my family. There is a lot of black humor in my love for my family. Of course, only Chinese people understand it. But there is only beauty here, the worldly beauty common to the whole world: a harmonious family, parents who enjoy life, a silly brother who is loyal, a brother who takes care of you and helps you out, a silly brother who looks cute, a nerd who can hurt and bully bullying sister.

3. This kind of beauty is also brought about by the values of the middle class, pointing to a rather narrow life value orientation. Watching a rock performance in the play is out of line. Although Father Jason and Mother Maggie are open-minded, they are limited to being out of the circle. As a child of the middle class, sightseeing can be done, but it is absolutely impossible to do it. So there is no subcultural picture to speak of.

4. Our generation can only watch the dubbed version imported from China and knocked out the season. This is the only exception in all the imported films we have watched, because its dubbing is too deeply tied to the past living environment. Only the dub version can summon back that setting and mood. If you watch the original English version, this drama is something else entirely, a family American drama that can only be said to be "fairly good". In the current cultural environment, it is impossible to watch it.

5. At this age, I actually don’t dare to look at the troubles of growing up. It’s too ideal, and it cruelly reminds you of the beauty that you can’t achieve in both positive and negative directions: you can’t live to look at it. Life, let alone the real life when I watched it as a child, can only fall asleep on the sofa in the gap between memory and hope, and then wake up in the middle of the night. In fact, this is not necessarily unhappy, but after all, it is a dream that the two can no longer touch. I just watched two episodes and I cried again without realizing it.

Because I only read the imported version, which is drawn down from a few episodes in each season, I can't really say that I have "seen it", but it may be more unforgettable than any "seen".
