A bit of a nauseating thriller

I was very young when I watched this movie. Probably not very suitable for children to watch, it makes me a little sick. But it still seems to be a success, because even though it's a bit disgusting, I've finished watching it. While applauding for the movie, I also applaud myself.
The first part is obviously a bit weird, a certain ceremony is going on, and the source of the hero and heroine lies in this. I didn't understand the real relationship between them before, but I just felt that in addition to caring, there seemed to be more ambiguity and desire in the eyes of my brother towards my sister, and it looked a little evil. The climax of the story and what really made me feel a little bloody was that the keeper's hand was removed alive, the blood was pouring down so realistically for the first time, and the fainting seemed to happen in an instant.
There is no second viewing of this film. I think the feeling and understanding of watching it now must be much stronger than before, but I still refuse to watch it a second time.

There are a few nasty places that are a bit boring in the middle. That leopard is so good, he enjoys being scratched on his chin

This film is a remake of Tourneur's pre-war thriller of the same name. It tells the story of a werewolf-like leopard. Schrader's way of shooting somehow always reminds me of Australian environmental-friendly films such as Badlands, although the cult prototype is actually still a thousand and zero. One Night: The result of the dream is the cause of reality at the same time

Cat People quotes

  • Detective Brandt: Take a look. There's pieces of three or four bodies in there. Probably more buried around.

    Alice Perrin: Oh, God.

Detective Brandt: I expect Gallier killed them first. Possibly as part of some ritual. Then, fed 'em to the leopard. We found some others over the years. Mostly prositutes, female runaways, half eaten, genitals torn out.

  • Irena Gallier: Listen.

    Oliver Yates: What?

Irena Gallier: Can't you hear it?

Oliver Yates: Yeah, that's alligators. They're about to eat us.

    Irena Gallier: [doubtingly] Alligators.

Oliver Yates: Yeah! There's only one way to keep them away. You know what that is?

    Irena Gallier: No.

Oliver Yates: You have to make love.

    [kiss]

Oliver Yates: They hate the sound.
