The opening of the movie gives people a very comfortable feeling. The shots of several sketches are slowly switched. With the Crazy World played by the harmonica, it is very comfortable and relaxing.
The movie version has far fewer songs than the musical, and the only ones that impress are You and Me, Le Jazz Hot and Crazy World. Le Jazz Hot is Victoria's first performance as Victor. It's easy to think of All That Jazz, but there's no irony in it, it's just pure cool and spicy. You and Me is a song that Victor and gay Toddy returned to the nightclub where Toddy used to work after he became famous and was invited to perform on stage. The collocation of Julie and Robert is very tacit and humorous, with dialogues and simple tap dance steps inserted in many places, very free and casual. Crazy World is the theme of the whole show, a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman, this is really a crazy world. All three songs have been retained in the musical, but one of the new additions, It's Almost A Love Story, stands out.
The composer of the original film was the famous Henri Marchini. However, when he completed the adaptation of the musical version of "Androgynous", he had already let go. Part of the 1995 Broadway version of the music we hear now was written by Frank Wildhorn, the composer of Doctor Who. Although the movie says that there are performances of several songs, in fact, those are all stage performances in the play, and do not enter the life of the characters. This is somewhat similar to "Hotel". It is a pity that many classic passages in the stage version of "Hotel" were deleted when they were brought to the big screen. From this point of view, "Androgyny" is more of a general movie, but a movie with song performances.
