"Lightning Dog" is Disney's fourth animation film released in digital 3D form after "Four Eyes", "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Boy Genius". It is also the first digital 3D animation introduced in China. Disney specially hired movie star John Travolta to voice the puppy Bolt this time, and its TV partner girl Penny was voiced by American teenage star Miley Theros. "Lightning Dog", along with "Robot Story" and "Kung Fu Panda", was nominated for the Best Animation Award at the Golden Globe Awards. Compared with the previous live action movie "The Adventures of the Center of the Earth" shot with a stereo camera, "Lightning Dog" is a movie made entirely of computer CG animation, with more vivid colors and stronger three-dimensional dynamics. If you wear 3D glasses, you can see the neatly combed hair of the Lightning Dog.
