elegant liar

For me, who is used to watching American dramas, the British "Hustle" really surprised me. It exudes a very elegant and uniquely British character. Yes. tasteful. A show about fraud can be described as elegant, showing how different it is.

I like British movies recently, just like that kind of elegance, that kind of decent feeling. The members of the fraud gang in this "Hustle" all appear very refined, with amazing IQs, calm and restrained, tongue-tied, and good at observing words and expressions. They can always complete each case quietly and smoothly. Even if unplanned surprises sometimes happen, they can turn the situation around perfectly by being on the spot. I was amazed at every action they made, and I couldn't help but applaud in admiration.

Everyone in the gang is unique and vivid. They are all mind-readers, and relying on prior research can always easily hook their targets. But the most important thing is the careful game they set at the beginning. Each of their hoaxes also has a specific name, derived from a certain piece of literature. Very new and interesting.

If the show were just about a bunch of genius scammers, you might think they're just another bunch of pompous smart liars. However, it is not so simple.

What makes them special is their good heart. They only defraud greedy people, people who expect something for nothing, people who have ill-gotten gains. There are no bloody dirty tricks in the whole play, it's all about psychological warfare. Greed, one of the seven deadly sins, is their breakthrough point and the key to getting the deceived into the quagmire step by step. They will set up some nice games, slowly approach and lure the target into the game.

They also find the wrong target, but when they find out they made a mistake they will make up for it, because they say they don't deceive the righteous, they will give up halfway or return to the original owner in the end.

They will also be fooled by others. Incredible. But yes, they are mortals after all. They also have weaknesses, that is, they are too sentimental, too pure and kind, and as a result, they are used by others and frame good people.

Because of these characteristics, the ending is often unexpected, but this is where the bonus comes in.

This show is so delicate, elegant and fresh, I fell in love at first sight.

I'm in love with these elegant liars.
