In the summer, there are not many films that make people rush to the cinema on the premiere day. So the annual date with Woody Allen was especially anticipated by me. Last year it was released slightly earlier. That Friday, I ran out after class and went to watch "Love in Rome". The weather was very hot, there were a lot of people in the small theater, and the smell of sweat was erratic. While watching the scenery of Rome, I watched the three cute people Jesse, Ellen and Woody, and missed the days when I went violently in Europe two years ago. It's this time this year. The old man arrived as scheduled and Blue Jasmine was released. I have graduated and I am going to watch it on the premiere day. In the same theater, the New Yorkers came to meet again. I don’t know how many old faces appeared in the same theater last year?
Woody's opening didn't go around circles, and went straight to the main line. Jasmine, played by Cate, has the same opening scene as To Rome with Love: he started talking on the plane. This is actually like an audience shouting: I am a character written by Woody Allen haha! Jasmine, who was wrapped in millions of dollars, sat in a San Francisco rental and came to the door of an ordinary apartment. When she got out of the car, she staggered, and You Youdi asked the driver one of the most profound questions in life:
"Where am I, exactly?" One
sentence point! Jasmine's life fell from the so-called heaven to the so-called hell, and pride met its natural enemy: lost.
The little old man began to let his life provide Jasmine with various opportunities to compare the past and the past, and the editing began to proceed in parallel on two timelines. There is no fancy, simple editing, which reminds me of Rob Reiner's Flipped. It is also a parallel narrative, simple editing, but there is at least one element to help the audience convert: the monologue of the little heroine and the hero. And this time the little old man didn't even need this kind of assistance, as if he didn't take it to heart at all, just like he was only playing the clarinet in the Bar when the Oscars were awarded. The simplicity of the editing has not affected the plot of the movie. The old man is very skilled here to hang our appetites, and there to joke with us; the lines are still hilarious, and the heroine is full of all kinds, so those technical fancy can indeed become clouds. , Because the audience will already be greatly moved.
Jasmine is used to the life of a lady (from Park Avenue), Jasmine has good genes (Ginger has been emphasizing), Jasmine has good taste (all kinds of famous brands come from hand), Jasmine is a proud woman-Jasmine went bankrupt (husband was arrested, My son dropped out of school in-law, only a bunch of famous brands and no money) came to borrow his sister Ginger's house. He couldn't calm himself down at all. Instead, he became more and more impatient. She eagerly wanted to jump out of this, for some reason she appeared in the big hole in her life. She felt that she had done nothing wrong, and she felt that she should be able to live well on her own. It was also at this time that she began to reflect on her previous life. She began to regret not getting a college degree, and she began to doubt herself. She put the pill into her mouth with trembling hands. She instinctively wanted to continue her study: learn the computer, and then learn the online interior design course. But she must work first. She went to the front desk of the dentist's office, and the untimely Hermès bag behind the counter seemed to predict the death of this job.
When a big party opportunity comes, it evokes the social soul that Jasmine has not had a chance to perform for too long. The face of frustration and helplessness, she immediately became noble and elegant when she met the new handsome guy. Before she had time to learn interior design, she immediately had a big house to design. Seeing this, the audience began to murmur: It turns out that she still depends on a man. Finally... But life is so easy. People who are difficult to dismantle are only an ideal state; when the people who come to dismantle themselves appear, the illusion of life is immediately broken, and it is true. The hardship started to erupt in the last scene when Jasmine went to see his unrelated son who had disappeared. She shed tears and said: "I need you..." and her son just calmly told her not to come to him again...
Finally, Jasmine rushed out of Ginger's house with wet hair but there was nowhere to go, she sat On the roadside bench, the expensive clothes could no longer stop the confusion in her heart. She looked into the distance, and then our audience was forcibly taken away from Jasmine's life at this moment.
The former Jasmine was proud of her family, her elegance, and her life; she was a bit bitter, but she was not vain. She looks very annoying at first, but she also has a bit of tragic joy, and her outspoken hypocrisy, so you can't hate it. In fact, I think the old man has affection for Jasmine, although he himself said that the woman in his pen is what he imagined, without personal judgment. Although until the end of the movie, we did not see any signs of Jasmine jumping out of the pit of life, but from another perspective, she has actually been hit by all the mirage-like life-saving straws, and in this process, she is self-reflection. It can start from the beginning, and after falling to the bottom, it will usually be a better and better future. Therefore, I believe that she, who is tougher after setbacks, will start to cross the movie's timeline as soon as possible.
When our conditions are better than others, or some places appear more talented than others, pride will arise. What is the reason for pride that always appears as a derogatory term? In many cases, it is because of something that is not earned by hard work. It may be talent, family background, or appearance... The reason for pride is always so easy to be overthrown, so proud people are more likely to get the opportunity to reflect on themselves. NYTimes has a comment: "Jasmine maybe deeply struggled, at least she's deep." Compared to Ginger, this is the feeling. Proud people are struggling with themselves, but it is very likely that they will eventually become a light and interesting person. If I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to choose a friend between Jasmine and Ginger and truly communicate, then I am still willing to follow the proud Jasmine: how funny she is!
