Great Expectations is a coming-of-age novel that tells the story of the upbringing of the protagonist Pip. Pip is an orphan, and he and the heroine Esther are childhood sweethearts and have always put love in their hearts, but the heroine's mother is a person who only wants to "revenge" the man, making the heroine become loveless and kind. Pip helped a fugitive. After the fugitive came out, he wanted to repay Pip and cultivate him into a superior man. After Pip learned the truth, he felt pain and surprise. In the end, the fugitive died, and he didn't know who his daughter was before he died. The heroine's mother repented and committed suicide. The hero and heroine bathed in the hazy moonlight, lived happily together, and walked towards their own "great future" !

Not as good as the previous three-episode miniseries. Except for a few places, the whole picture is so gloomy that it looks like it was shot in the bottom of a prison. Helena is crazy everywhere, and she doesn't see the character of this character at all. Fiennes too, enough, this movie was ruined by casting, and celebrities only bring attention and not necessarily reputation! The only thing that is stronger than the previous work is the male protagonist's face==

Bought the book and watched the film because of the sympathy for the bbc Dickens documentary life

    Young Pip: I'm Pip.

Magwitch: Once more, give it mouth!

    Young Pip: Pip.

    Magwitch: Ssh.

    [pushing the boy down]

Young Pip: Pip, Sir. Don't sir, please!

Magwitch: [turning him upside down] You've got wills on you, boy? You've got wills on ya!

    Young Pip: No, sir.

Magwitch: [puts him back on his feet] Come here. What fat cheeks you've got. Darn me if I couldn't eat 'em. Where's your mother?

    Young Pip: There, sir.

    [pointing at the grave]

Young Pip: Also my father, sir. My father and brothers, too.

Magwitch: Orphan, ey? Who do you live with? That's supposing I let you live.

Young Pip: My - my sister, sir. My sister, Mrs. Joe Gargery, wife of Joe Gargery, the blacksmith, sir.
