"Ben Come Home", can you come back? Ben is Back

On Christmas Eve, Holly (Julia Roberts) returns home from church with her children. On the way, he met his eldest son Ben (Lucas Hedges) who came back from the outside. He excitedly told him about his adventures outside and the happiness of his friends' house. Both mother and son were immersed in joy.

Ben is an addict. Just like all drug-addicted children, there is no cure, and they are finally sent to a drug rehab center. , Except for Holly, everyone is wary of his return. In the end, they decided that Ben could only stay at home for one day and not get any drugs. Of course the executive supervisor is Mom Holly.

Everything seemed to be going well until they came home from a fun Christmas party at church to find that thieves had entered their home and stole everyone's pet puppy. Everyone knows that this is for Ben. He decided to go get the puppy back. He was accompanied by Holly, of course.

(spoiler)

Ben, a former drug dealer, knew that the thief could be his upline, an accomplice, or a customer. He also knew that some people were dangerous, so he left Holly and drove to find the puppy by himself. And Holly can only find him all over the city by herself. The last time Ben was seen, he was once again on the brink of death from drug addiction. Holly brought the antidote with him from the brink of death.

For the Chinese, it was the social problem of drugs that brought China into modern society through the humiliating Opium War. Unfortunately this problem has spread all over the world. There is more than one small character like Ben under this magic net.

However, the American pharmaceutical company and his doctor in the film are also responsible for the depravity of this. The painkillers prescribed for him put him on the road to drug addiction. This is an irreversible road. Once you go in, you will be stuck in it forever and you can't get rid of it. Ben knew this firsthand, and as he told Holly, "I can't be trusted anymore". Holly's love can only add to his own self-blame, knowing that his existence is a burden to those around him. It now seems almost hopeless. He can survive, even if he dreams of it, even if he has Holly's infinite love, he can't go back to this home anyway.

In the past two years, American pharmaceutical companies and some doctors have been selling addictive painkillers in order to make money, which has put many people into desperation. Congress has also heard several drug company bosses, and recently there have been reports of doctors jailed for arbitrarily prescribing painkillers for profit. In short, the government has also worked hard. The government is not inactive, when many times are often out of frustration. Over the past few years, states have lifted marijuana controls in an effort to focus more on the more harmful hard drugs like cocaine and heroin, while also reducing the source of profit for drug dealers. It's just that the effect remains to be tested in the future.

It's an emotional story, but I'm not used to such emotional outbursts. It expresses Holly's love for her son Ben. Driving the car all night and risking danger all over the city to find his son. It's a pity that he was already in deep trouble. The only gratification is that in the end she rescued Ben. Although this is already the case, I still miss my home and go home for Christmas. In the end, for a puppy, he took the risk to get back his former accomplice. It's just that it's too late for them both now.
