If Garfield hadn't acted in this movie, I guess it would be difficult for me to watch it. It is said that because of the trilogy, you have to read it to know the answer, and to evaluate it, you should also read the trilogy to be fair. But there is no Garfield in the next two films, so I thankfully gave up the last two, shameless Baidu ended the ending.
When the movie first started, I was really looking forward to it. The reporter and the detective were a really loving combination. Film noir, smoking tough guy, Marlowe from The Long Goodbye in front of me. I am also looking forward to his interpretation of this brand new character type. But then the intimacy scene progressed very fast, and the case progressed very slowly. I was a little confused about what movie I was watching.
The director must love him very much. There are a lot of topless and intimacy scenes that are not necessary for the plot. You can see enough of Garfield's beautiful muscle lines, as well as close-up close-ups of big eyes and long eyelashes. They can be called fans Welfare drama.
The dark atmosphere plus the bloody scenes, the fragrant scenes jump out from time to time, and the stream of consciousness of the protagonist's heart is interspersed. A variety of temperaments conflict and mix with each other, which makes me stumbling. Maybe this is the criticism that the book was adapted into a movie. It is inevitable to give up too much content and lose sight of the other.
Garfield grows a mustache inside, and looks like a suave reporter, but his temperament is really unpleasant. His outstanding feature is the fragile temperament hidden under innocence, which is really incompatible with this kind of romantic and resolute characters.
