or translated to outsider

Use "The Outsider" to search, and you will find a lot of Camus' novels, as well as previous 2016 and even 1977 movies.

In fact, I watched this movie starring Jared Leto yesterday. The original Japanese name in the movie seems to be a foreigner. I am not sure, and I am too lazy to go back and check.

The movie is very ordinary. I saw the trailer on Weibo last year, and it seemed to be very good. After watching the whole film, I realized that all the wonderful things are compressed in the trailer, such as the tense underworld shootout, the beautiful Japanese woman , kimono, tattoo. Spread over the entire film is lackluster.

The film begins in a Japanese prison, but why this Yankee is imprisoned in Japan, there is no explanation. Why would the male protagonist join the gang? Where did the love with Miyu come from? The performances of geisha and sumo have nothing to do with the plot, and they are probably just released to add some Japanese elements. Not necessary at the dew point. The racism didn't go deep. It's shallow in every way.

In short, there are better Japanese gangster films than this one, and there are better action movies that celebrate loyalty and love, but they don't have enough weight. The shocking finger-cutting scene is about paying tribute to Mr. Kitano Takeshi. There is no freshness.

After watching the whole movie, what impressed me the most was the appearance of the protagonist Leto, with a smooth back, walking like clouds and flowing water, and handsome formal clothes. Put two favorite pictures, this is the reason why I gave this film "OK".

First time watching Leto's movie, I like this look

The Outsider quotes

  • Nick Lowell: I want you to allow me to kill him. Give this warrior a weapon and let him show us how strong and brave he really is.

    [to Orochi]

Nick Lowell: What do you have to fear?

    [in Japanese]

    Nick Lowell: Brother?

Orochi: You walk into my home, you take my brother, you poison my father's mind. Poison him against me. Someone has to put out the fire.

    [takes Nick's sword]

Orochi: You think you are a Yakuza with this? You aren't a Yakuza. You are a gaijin. Outsider. You are just the way my brother found you.

    [yells]

Orochi: Get up! No, I won't fight you.

  • Anthony Panetti: Look, I'm sure you got respect for these people because they wear silk pajamas and they bow like you're the fucking sun god when they pour the coffee. Frankly, I don't give a shit about their rules or their traditions or whatever the fuck it is that you're here to try to explain to me. We won! What's the point of winning a war if now you gotta worry about stepping on Japs' toes?

Nick Lowell: I wouldn't call them Japs.

Anthony Panetti: [scoffs] Okay. So you're one of those?

    Nick Lowell: One of what?

Anthony Panetti: I got a deal with the United States Army. Your fucking country gives me metal at two cents a cubic yard. Do you know where they get this metal from? Any idea? They get it from breaking down war machines that these fucking Nips built to sneak attack us! So excuse me if they gotta buy it back from me cheap. Now, I don't know if you're banging some slanty-eyed broad and you're getting all gooked-out and sympathetic, but that's the way it is.

Nick Lowell: That's the way it is?

Anthony Panetti: That's the way it is. And now, you can get the fuck out of my office.
