This is an early romantic comedy from director Ingmar Bergman. In a small town in Sweden in 1901, lawyer Frederick married a young wife named Anne, who was only eighteen years old and could be his youngest daughter. He loved this little woman and was fascinated all day long, but he couldn't control her. He and his ex-wife's son Henrik is a handsome 19-year-old boy, and his emotional balance is hesitant between his stepmother and maid of the same age, so the marriage of the old man and the young wife in this family has caused people's differences. Frederick sat with Anne in the old ornate theatre.
