Harvard Law School, whether in China or the United States, is a god-like existence. Since HLS regards this film as a freshman, it shows a certain degree. Acknowledged, so I found out and watched this film again. Combining the two years of living in the United States, I have a different feeling from when I watched it many years ago. This is actually not a brain fragment.
First of all, it has a certain degree of realism. The scene was shot on the Harvard campus. Even without the most famous Harvard arc top and the statue of the creator, the library and dormitory were all shot on site. The prescribed seats, random questions asked by professors, and case books in the law school are also based on realistic HLS classrooms.
Then there is its invisible penetration and explanation of American university education. Elle is a transfer student, originally majoring in fashion design with GPA4.0. Although it is a major that is far away from law, her grades show that she is at least excellent in this field. She got a high score of 179 on the LSAT and is the leader of the sorority. These are the personal achievements highlighted in her application video. And her original school is not bad, UCLA is also an Ivy League, a prestigious western school. So even if Elle didn't take the LSAT and didn't transfer to another school, she is not a girl with big breasts and no brains. The contrast in the film is mainly reflected in the contrast of her interest from the simple and superficial Girly Interest--Fashion to the serious legal world. It is also very Fit American culture to take this name specially to find Robert, who is blond and sweet.
Furthermore, I think the good thing is that it tells a coherent story. Elle was born rich but seems to be a nouveau riche and knows all kinds of famous brands well. Her boyfriend, Warner, who threw her away, read HLS for the sake of political future, and his cousin was engaged to the children of the famous railway tycoon and the famous political and business family Vanderbilt. Everyone remember Gossip Girl’s Nate. Nate’s mother belongs to the Vanderbilt family, so the grandfather’s one is very rich and well placed. Pull it far, pull it back. Such an ambitious boyfriend is forgiven for dumping Elle, the offspring of the nouveau riche. Although Elle is sad, she has a positive and tenacious belief and is willing to take the HLS test for love. The scene where Elle drove pink furniture to the empty alley downstairs in Harvard dormitory was so impressive. When I visited Harvard during the winter vacation, I didn't see anyone at all. The students are all library houses, right. Later in HLS classes, internships, reading, discussion, and later in order to win the various twists and turns of the lawsuit, on the one hand, it reflects the life of Harvard students, the incompatibility between Elle and the world of schoolmasters, and how Elle overcomes various difficulties. The court won recognition and also got academic success. It must be said that it is a very good story. Starting from a contradiction, each character is well portrayed, and the character’s motivation and behavior are very make sense... After reading it,
there are still many manifestations. I won’t go into details about the aspects of American culture, such as the power of the sorority, people’s discrimination against blondes, the impression of Harvard student nerdy, political background, and personal struggle. Although Elle has a good family background, it also reflects personal struggle to a certain extent.
