As the "brain fan" of "The Wizard of Oz", director Sam Remy clearly stated that "The Wizard of Oz" is "a love letter to "The Wizard of Oz", and the plot story is also directly constructed in "The Wizard of Oz" in a "prequel" way. Based on the foundation, it shows that the two pieces are closely connected-so, to "understand" "The Wizard of Oz", we have to talk about "The Wizard of Oz".

"The Wizard of Oz" was originally a fairy tale published by American writer Frank Baum in 1900. It tells about the magical experience of a little Kansas girl Dorothy after being swept into the "country of Oz" by a tornado (Doroth and a lion, a scarecrow, and A Tin Man formed a partner). After the fairy tale was published, it was a big success. Baum wrote 14 sequels in one go in 20 years. Together with the creation of other writers, this "State of Oz" series of stories has become spectacular. However, from the English literal translation, Baum’s first book is actually called "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz), and his sequels are also named after "XX of Oz." Therefore, this series is also called "The Adventures of Oz", but the famous Chinese children’s writer Mr. Chen Bochui translated Baum’s first work as "The Wizard of Oz" before liberation. The "Ziguo" series only refers to Baum's first book in a narrow sense. The title of "Oz the Great and Powerful" (Oz the Great and Powerful) can be hard-translated as "Oz the Great and Powerful" (corresponding to the protagonist's identity), and it is now translated as "The Oz the Great and Powerful." Light (Taiwan's translation is still "The Great Emperor of Oz").

It is generally believed that "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" has opened the curtain of modern fairy tales. From the classical taste of preaching and killing to the modern tone of fantasy and adventure, "The Wizard of Oz" is in response to this trend and is booming. The popular culture industry was quickly adapted into a variety of product forms-as early as 1902, Baum adapted the first work into a stage play; and in 1939, MGM launched a song and dance that shines through the history of film based on this work. The film "The Wizard of Oz" (literally translated as "The Wizard of Oz"), Sam Remy is fascinated by this version.

The author of "The Wizard of Oz" is the screenwriter Kappler. He has always wanted to write a prequel to "The Wizard of Oz", but in 2003 Broadway launched the "Prequel" musical "The Wicked Witch" of "The Wizard of Oz", about Oz The ins and outs of the several witches in the country, as well as the lions, scarecrows, and tin people, forced Kapler to find another way and focus the story on the slanderous Emerald City magician in the original work. In the original work, this person originally came in a hot air balloon, used projection technology to create an illusion, pretended to be a magician to rule the people in the city, and finally left in a hot air balloon... The past history of this magician has portrayed him as a frustrated circus magician, and his plot of using modern sound and light technology to disguise himself as a magician also ingeniously corresponds to the original work-the protagonist Oscar first talks to the great magician Hudi Ni’s tribute is a vain shot, and he still pays tribute to Thomas Edison: He used Edison’s recent film technology (of course the invention right is controversial) to create a plot of illusion, not only forward, but also a tribute to the movie itself.

In "The Wizard of Oz", Dorothy woke up after a serious illness and found that many of the people in Oz are the incarnations of people in reality. This is also inherited in "The Wizard of Oz": the paralyzed girl corresponds to the death Porcelain doll with legs, Oscar could not cure her in reality, but her legs were glued in the country of Oz; the flying monkey corresponds to Oscar’s assistant. In reality, Oscar was instigated by Oscar, and the country of Oz established with him In reality, the girlfriend that Oscar almost lost in reality turned into a kind witch who eventually married him in the kingdom of Oz... There are many such correspondences. It can be seen that Sam Remy is quite the essence of the original work. The copyright of the 1939 version of "The Wizard of Oz" fell into the hands of Warner. Sam Remy worked for Disney. Naturally, he couldn't borrow any visual elements from the old version. However, Sam Remy, who had filmed "Ghost" and "Spider-Man" The most indispensable thing is imagination. Coupled with the aid of new technologies such as CG and 3D, "Magic Land and Wizardry" has been made beautifully. Of course, Sam Remy’s evil tastes sometimes flash, especially In the scene of the Fallen Witch, it is always reminiscent of the shadow of "Ghost Man" (the black and white part of the opening is obviously a tribute to the old version).

From 1900 to 2013, the fairy tale dream of "The Wizard of Oz" that spanned more than a hundred years is still going on.
