The format of the film is small and the story is simple, but the screenwriter’s brain is not small, it just involves the height of the relationship between people and society. The plot will not be shown here, just do some analysis and talk about my own feelings.
One of the core questions in the film is whether people can live out of society. The film makes a very interesting interpretation, and the answer is yes or no. It must be because the Ben Cash family shown in the opening chapter has already done it. But there is a prerequisite for this. People who want to leave must also leave their hearts. If the hearts are still concerned about the world, then the final return to society is inevitable, that is, they cannot live without leaving the society. Yin is just a way of life, not completely an attitude to life. This example is Ben's wife. She may have also suffered from a mental illness, which eventually became the fuse that led to the family's return to society. Another detail is that she and her eldest son arranged to apply for college, and also foreshadowed the return. This is Xiaoyin. In contrast, his father Ben is more like a truly detached character. He even insisted that his children not come to society, but what really changed him was the injury of his eldest daughter. A person is small, but in society. Medical treatment is possible here, and for the same reason, he sent his wife back for treatment, which caused tragedy instead. From this point, the love for his wife and children became his fetters, and finally dragged him back to society. So it's a person's thing to really go out of the world, and you can't do it with care.
However, the film’s criticisms and satires on many issues in society abound, and they do not describe them one by one. Some of them are spoken from children, and they are often jokes. I think this is also the reason why people want to leave this society. However, the movie gave an attitude, probably a kind of sincere tolerance. First of all, we must sincerely face, point out, and express those problems, just like children who are not taboo; second, it is a kind of reconciliation, a kind of tolerance, because in the end they still come back, they may have many conflicts with society and spark many sparks. However, the film reconciles with a smile, including people in society: the girl the eldest son knows, the old couple walking, etc. The society has also made tolerance, perhaps learning to reconcile with the society, is what the movie wants to say.
In addition, the film expresses a respect for rational thinking, equal communication, and full expression, rather than passing by emotionally. In the car, the father asked his daughter how he felt reading a book. The daughter said "Interesting" at once, and the younger daughter said "Interesting is a non-word." Then the father asked the elder daughter to describe and narrate as much as he could; celebrating the creation I don't know what holiday (forgive my hearing), the second son expressed objection, and the father peacefully asked him to discuss and express his views. These are great ways to educate. In contrast, the girl the eldest son knows "wandering" about the eldest son, and there is only one word "wierd" to express. (Not to mention how rich those exaggerated piles of philosophical expressions are...) Now that we all use emotional abbreviations on the Internet, the space for self-thinking and the ability to accurately express are regressing. In addition, my father is very outspoken in front of the children about some issues, which is indeed a good thing sometimes. Give the children the facts, they will understand it, if it is covered up, it will be misleading.
Speaking of the actors, Vigo is really great, it can be said that he supported the entire film. The little actors are very brilliant (so cute!!!), but they always feel a little bit close. It is also the performance that the little guy in "Room" performed better when I saw the big world outside for the first time. But "Room" is a bit different from here. He didn't know that there was a real world outside before. Here, the children are already familiar with the principles of the outside world, and they are familiar with reading books. They are only practicing in the real world for the first time. This is more like when we are in school, we know everything on paper, but when we enter the society, we will see that it will be different.
The movie laughed and scolded for a long time, but it was actually a sad core. The children sang and danced around the cremated mother, but they were very sad.
This is really happy-sad. The
more criticized is the ending of the movie, which seems like a compromise. However, the film can only use this method to weaken the potential contradiction, because this family is incompatible with this world. The last shot was paused for a long time, and it was shocking, as if I hope that the school bus will not arrive in 15 minutes, so that they are still at ease in the world, just like all of our restless hearts.
All in all, the movie is very good. It must be a private top ten of the year, so just write about it.
