A smooth and flat cultured pearl

I don't really understand "Ghost in the Shell". I am interested in it because of "The Matrix". The latter did borrow a lot of scenes and thoughts from the former. In a flash of more than ten or twenty years, "Ghost in the Shell" has a live-action version, of course you have to watch it.

The essence of the 1995 animated version of "Ghost in the Shell", I think, is that it has a very calm and broad thinking about the relationship between humans and machines, and less wishful thinking of human-centeredness (this point, "Hacker" fully understands this). Although its aesthetics are very otaku, but the art and music are to the extreme-cold, coquettish, ethereal and a little wasteland, so you can't help but be moved.

After being impressed, I probably want to make a live-action version (not to make money). When the technology finally matured, they took the live-action version.

Due to the high benchmarks (animated version and "The Matrix" are both insurmountable peaks), it is extremely difficult for the live-action version to please old fans. Perhaps because of this, the main creative tends to please the general audience. They told a very different story with the animation version of the modeling and certain scenes. Scarlett played the role of Suzi and even gave her a foreign name. From the beginning, they did not intend to restore the animated version 100% faithfully.

I don't care much about race issues in literary works. For example, my daughter was obsessed with "Harry Potter" when she was a child, but when she grew up she criticized Rowling for not including more or more important other racial characters in the book. I argued that a book written by a white writer, you forced her to show something else. Race, the requirements are a bit excessive. The girl was angry with me, not to mention it. But this time, a story set in Asia and Japan, but starred by white people, is really weird. The girl criticized it for whitewashing, so I can only support her point of view. After all, the Japanese are so powerful that no one else can play it. In the same way, Europeans and Americans can't play the same vigor, but Asians can't play it.

However, apart from the accusation of whitewashing, Scarlett is a good candidate in terms of styling alone, or she is not a bad choice. She quite diligently grasped the characteristics of Suzi Shaozuo's "human and non-human". Her limbs were slightly stiff, and she walked with her head slightly tilted. She looked faintly not very human, but never interfered with the aesthetics. Beautiful makeup and strong body. If there is no animated version for comparison, it would be very good. But compared with the original, she was too warm and down-to-earth after all. Suzi is alienated. She doesn't really care about human beings, or even herself. Her concern is not the concern of ordinary people, the kind of eight o'clock orphans looking for their mothers. Unfortunately, the live-action version asked her to find who she was, and it was nothing more than to find it. It also gave her a brutal past life (and lover), so the format of the whole film was very small.

It's not that you can't use such a plot, but you call yourself "Ghost in the Shell". If the format is small, it can only be a fake Ghost in the Shell. Of course, ordinary audiences can understand such plots better, I understand. So this film is actually just a very (don't have) deliberate fan creation.

Attention is really attentive. A few scenes were restored faithfully. Especially in the alley tracking, the plane flying over the roof, and the fighting in the water pool, the technology was perfect. It’s also great to jump off the top of the building, her camouflage invisibility suit is a highlight.

Then the film also wanted to do some of its own development, but unfortunately it didn't succeed much. Geisha robots are very good, weird and beautiful. Otherwise, it's gone. A fight in Sound Business is a parody of "The Matrix". They also want to create the impression that "synthetic people have become popular" in the background, but it is not beautiful and does not match. It doesn't match with the neon and 3D advertisements between the high-rise buildings outside. In my eyes, those advertisements are a big flaw in the art of the film. It is hard to imagine that people in the future will like such ugly things and fill the whole film with a sense of plastic, which is very different from the atmosphere of the animated version.

After reading it in retrospect, the art of this film did not have a unified taste and idea, nor did it dare to be the ultimate. They tried to restore the scene of Mozi's body forming at the beginning of the animated version, but it did not have the almost soft and erotic charm of the original version. The part of Suzi diving was originally full of spirituality, and the live-action version was dark and didn't see anything, and the mirror before coming out of the water didn't show it directly.

Speaking of which, the animated version is very sexy. As a female audience, I may not like the sexy from the perspective of an otaku, but I cannot deny the existence of this sexy. The live-action version does not have such sexiness. The nakedness of the element is not true. Even if it is true, it shows power and nature. I haven't finally decided whether this is an advantage or a disadvantage. For the time being an advantage.

In the ending climax of the spider armored car battle and Suzi's muscle breaking scene, there is no original thrilling and poetic charm at all! Absolutely not! (Thank your hand)

The plot or something, alas, forget it, at the end Suzi actually said a very thick chicken soup, it was really messy. Kitano is still very cool and has a strong aura. There is Juliet Binoche in Casri, and Huang Jinghan from Singapore, which is quite international. Bart is not as bad as I thought, but not very impressive. Both villains are relatively weak, especially Jiu Shi, although I like the appearance of the younger brother, but his motives and logic can not be considered carefully, and it is impossible to think carefully. And I don't like the setting that he and Suzi are lovers in their previous lives.

All in all, this film is a fan, and viewers who have not seen the animated version will find it beautiful, because there are indeed a lot of cool things and it is very well-made. But...oh. I wanted to say that it was mixed with fish eyes, but I thought it was not enough. If the animated version is a rare natural pearl glowing with cold light, the live version is probably a smooth and flat cultured pearl.
