resonance

Before Harry and Sally fell in love, the state at this time was my favorite. Two people with the same wounds rely on each other, passing the hard time of exactly the same nature, listening to each other's frustrations and understanding each other's feelings. Very simple, if time can stand still, I pray that I can stay here. The two were talking on the phone in their respective beds, watching the exact same movie, and then saying goodbye to goodnight, turning off the lights and going to sleep. A little ambiguous, but so warm. Even though I know that this state is just a prelude to a bigger story, I am still unconsciously obsessed with it. Just wanting such a simple and light kind of warmth, people who have been injured have an insurmountable fear of a new beginning. Not moving forward is also afraid of repeating the same mistakes. The heroes and heroines in the story have one kind of thought, but I, who is watching outside the story, have another kind of thought. Let’s touch the scene, I think, so it’s not the happy ending that impressed me the most. I ignored the key points that the author and director wanted to instill in the audience, and ran to another path. Emotional things often have different ways of doing things, but obviously different experiences will resonate with each other. I think that from the beginning to the end, the points that seem to be not the key points have made me, a digressive audience, resonate a lot.

The reason why romance films are getting worse and worse is probably because the wonderful lines have already been written.

When Harry Met Sally... quotes

  • Sally Albright: You know, I'm so glad I never got involved with you. I just would have ended up being some woman you had to get up out of bed and leave at 3:00 in the morning and go clean your andirons, and you don't even have a fireplace, not that I would know this.

  • [Harry and Sally discussing orgasms]

Sally Albright: Most women at one time or another have faked it.

Harry Burns: Well, they haven't faked it with me.

Sally Albright: How do you know?

    Harry Burns: Because I know.

Sally Albright: Oh. Right. That's right. I forgot. You're a man.

Harry Burns: What was that supposed to mean?

Sally Albright: Nothing. It's just that all men are sure it never happened to them and all women at one time or other have done it, so you do the math.
