“NASA chose us not because we wear skirts, but because we wear glasses .” It’s the same as "City of Philharmonic" watching and crying several times. The reason is completely opposite, not because of the artistic and illusory beauty of the movie, but precisely because This is true because it has happened, because I feel some discrimination and prejudice that are similar to the inside but seem inconspicuous now, and I am moved because of the beauty and strength of the three outstanding women. The racial and sexism of that era was really blatantly extreme. Katherine's water bottle was labeled to be used alone; the plot of running half a mile to go to the toilet of color now seems so absurd, but it was taken for granted at the time. When she was soaked and told the supervisor that she was just going to the toilet and later removed the "colored only" sign, the paragraph really burst into tears. The three leading actors are great, and the roles are very contagious. I think the rhythm of the soundtrack and plot is also very good. The tone of the film is particularly inspirational in the realistic and stable narrative. There is no parade, no fierce resistance struggle and shouting slogans. The three seemingly obscure black women are the people who have made major contributions to the history of American computers and aviation, and they certainly give to society. In fact, the most powerful way to fight back is to prove yourself with strength. But I have to say how important it is to have a good boss. Consider that there are so many talented people in the world who don't even have the opportunity to speak up because of their skin color, race, gender, or sexual orientation. Last year, I watched 97-year-old Katherine being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The US president at the time was the first black president Barack Obama. Because I didn’t understand it, I didn’t feel much about it at the time. It was also this year. It was officially rehabilitated and confirmed. I sincerely hope that this film will get more attention and there will be more films like this.
I hate a word called "political correctness", but the political correctness on the table now is the result of all the oppressed people who have gone forward through various efforts and even risked their lives. Maybe one day we will lose the expression. After the right, I realized how "right" she was, but it was too late by then. I just think this movie is great, the actors are great, plus this true story behind it
I like "City of Philharmonic" very much, but I hope this film wins an Oscar.
