Harm, I can’t write a short review, and it’s not a movie review.

"Per aspera ad astra"——through hardships to the stars. Since ancient times, human beings have cherished endless beautiful yearning for the distant starry sky. Conquering the starry sky means conquering the unknown territory and gaining wisdom. However, the era of seeking wisdom has gone. The last large-scale and vigorous exploration of space was to escape the shadow of the Cold War. What about next time? The ubiquitous commercial atmosphere of the film seems to tell the answer and tell the answer—"If my father knew, he would take it all down."

So why leave the earth?

The whole film unfolds, all problems fall to Roy alone, it seems that he is the only person in the universe responsible for "thinking". The director/screenwriter gave Roy two special character settings. One is a person who always drifts away from the outside perspective. Although his eyes are intent, his eyes are always "on the exit". He is both performing tasks and acting. Focusing on the moment without caring, being very engaged and able to withdraw at any time, 100% attentive and 100% soul out of the body at the same time. (Similar setting to the protagonist in Nabokov's Eyes) Another setting is that Roy's heartbeat never exceeds 80 beats per minute. This naturally makes people think of "Blue Sea and Blue Sky", diver Enzo can easily dive to the depth of 400 feet under the sea without an oxygen cylinder, and stay in the water for a long time, because he can breathe with his brain.

In addition to the special character setting, Gray seems to abandon the previous new Hollywood style of writing this time, and turn his attention to the French new allegorical school. Following the band with the symbol of "umbilical cord", Roy faced repeated shocks caused by disordered memories. From the earth to the moon, then to Mars and Neptune, the wider the field of vision, the more inwardly the focus is. Like the usual protagonists in Gray's writings, Roy, as a son, must make a choice before destiny-whether he will stand aside with his father in the future. Only this time, the choice is longer, more poetic, and more magnificent.

The fable is beautiful, but the goofs of this film have to be turned over several pages in imdb. The plot is wrong, the facts are wrong, the logic is wrong, the character defects, and the geographical problems are too numerous to count. From immigrants on the earth to discussion to space immigrants, "Interstellar" is not only a leap in Gray’s shooting genre, but also a big step forward in the space level, but from personal viewing, this film is either as full of characters as before, or Just a little bit more culturally, now both sides are a bit incomplete, I hope the director will be closer to himself and the "reality" that he has been repeatedly emphasizing in the next film.

#Studio One Hall As Virgil said in "Aeneas", just like this he went towards the stars. Interstellar travel is both exploration and escape, but escape is useless, other planets become earth and battlefields, and loneliness at the level of the solar system is the ultimate human condition. A very epic movie. The surging emotions behind the icy institutions/languages, the hands climbing the ropes on the helmets (inner journey), and the umbilical connection of father and son beside Neptune is touching.

#2019VenicePart II# It’s really ugly, the stereotypical family affection + personal heroism, the hard-to-concave character conflict, the companions and enemies of the five scumbags, the whole film is simply Brad Pitt’s personal advertising film? …Two stars, one star for Pete's military uniform at the beginning, and one star for special effects, really can't be more.
