For another life, personal understanding does not only refer to the "previous life", but also refers to other parallel worlds.
Remember that there is a view in the time paradox that a person's life is the sum of his choices.
Assuming that the dwarf monster’s words and my understanding are both true, then some intersection of the parallel worlds outside of our choice exists in the form of dreams?
