Witch

It is very religious, showing me the misery of the Puritans in New England in the medieval world. The film does not pay much attention to some scary little tricks, but puts a lot of effort into the rendering of the atmosphere and the depiction of the picture. I can deeply feel that this family is heading for destruction step by step. Satan finally used the weaknesses of everyone in the family and the contradictions and injustices within the family to completely destroy the family. The fundamental reason is that the dark side of everyone’s heart is Being oppressed by the environment and having to show up, he was caught and used by the devil. Only the eldest daughter was truly innocent, but she was framed by the whole family and went into the abyss. On the downside, uh, this horror movie is not too scary! ! Best religious horror film of recent years. 1. The test of humanity in the wilderness, the blackened version of the trial of Job. 2. The soundtrack is excellent, the scene is simple, and the (anti) allegorical qualities are highlighted. 3. Some color schemes and compositions resemble Vermeer's paintings. 4. Lost in the Forbidden Forest is reminiscent of [Witch Blair]. 5. Religious metaphors: characters with symbols of the seven deadly sins, spit out apples, black goats, rabbits, crows. 6. The ascension ceremony of collective copulation is very good. (8.5/10)

Evil is poisonous, Anya Taylor-Joy, another Chloe Moretz? Harvey Scrimshaw is also clearly going to be a popular little boy

The Witch quotes

  • Caleb: Mother, I've brought a book, will you look at it with me?

  • Thomasin: Black Phillip, I conjure thee to speak to me. Speak as thou dost speak to Jonas and Mercy. Dost thou understand my English tongue? Answer me.

Black Phillip: What dost thou want?

    Thomasin: What canst thou give?

Black Phillip: Wouldst thou like the taste of butter? A pretty dress? Wouldst thou like to live deliciously?

    Thomasin: Yes.

Black Phillip: Wouldst thou like to see the world?

Thomasin: What will you from me?

Black Phillip: Dost thou see a book before thee?... Remove thy shift.

Thomasin: I cannot write my name.

Black Phillip: I will guide thy hand.
