"Lincoln Lawyer": Draw a circle and play with yourself

Those who play with the law are ultimately playing with themselves.

It’s nothing new to draw a circle and play with yourself. In the business world, especially in the business world with Chinese characteristics, there are circle after circle. There is you in the circle and me in the circle. All kinds of circles take profit as the ultimate goal. Circle, circled everyone with selfish desires, tossed around, and finally circled himself to death. This was the case for the former richest man surnamed Huang, and the former businessman surnamed Lai. Those who drew a circle and played in circles of this kind found themselves helplessly in the end. Returning to the film, Lei Luyi in "Lincoln Lawyer" is such a master who plays with himself in a circle, but he is not in a commercial way, but in a legal way.

Playing with the law, which sounds like a cool thing, is actually reduced to a chore. Lei Louis, who is absolutely handsome, handsome and rich, set up a trap with his self-conceited means in an attempt to challenge the law through a lawyer. Through the trick of planting misfortunes and transplanting flowers and trees, He Mitch, who has been so prosperous in the legal world, is introduced into his own trap. The original intention was to cover up his crimes by pretending to be innocent, and to make this innocence appear reasonable and full of justice and awe-inspiring aura. When Lei Luyi expressed his innocence with a pitiful face, he would inevitably think of Edward Norton's "most pretended innocent criminal" in "First Fear", but his eyes are still a little bit less sad. . Throughout the whole film, it is not difficult to see that Lei Luyi is somewhat mentally ill, and specifically selects similar prostitutes for violent abuse, rape and murder. This guy who is definitely not short of money was stunned to use violence to solve his desires, and trampled a woman's face into a horseshoe, and couldn't think of any better description except for pervert. Most of his abnormal mental illness stems from the psychological impact of witnessing his biological mother being raped. In a sense, this is a poor guy, but in the face of justice, poorness can never be a reason to condone evil.

Just like the whole story structure, after the perverted Lei Luyi missed his attack, he had to face the unexpected situation of being prosecuted. In the face of the trouble caused by this unexpected miss, Lei Luyi appeared to be extremely calm, and did not show the wealthy frizz. Instead, he used a very pitiful appearance to win the sympathy of the lawyer Hemich, and thus went all out to do it. Excused. And once the sympathy began to emerge, the trap that Lei Luyi laid down began to rippling. When he thought he could use this passion and wisdom lawyer to successfully play with the law, the savvy lawyer He Mitch quickly discovered the fact that he was drawn into a trap to play. Apart from anger, there is no way. Because of legal restrictions, he can only endure the torment of mental conflicts that he knows that his client is a criminal and has to defend him. Obviously, for a lawyer who is full of justice, even though he is greedy and unruly, he will suffer from such contradictions.

Fortunately, the so-called Dao is one foot high and the devil is high. He Mitch, a lawyer who has some rogue qualities, is not a soft persimmon. Since justice cannot defeat evil smoothly, under the core of justice, use a kind of look Hit back in a cruel way. So we saw the end that almost claps and screams, or that is a bit bad to find another way. Since Lei Luyi and his mother, who represent evil, can play with the law by drawing circles, the best way to fight back is of course the best way to fight back. Driven by the core of justice, Hemich also drew a circle. On the one hand, he rescued Lei Luyi from a small circle. On the other hand, he threw him into another big circle before his biological mother was preparing for the celebration dinner. Obviously, this big circle will not play with himself, but will firmly return the Lei Luyi circle to himself, unexpectedly playing with himself to the Jedi, and has no counterattack.

This is like a rebound ball hit hard, the goal is to hit the opponent, the result is quite embarrassing, it hits his own face. There is no decent way than to draw circles deliberately, thinking that they are playing with others, but unexpectedly, I get wet. It's hilarious.

The Lincoln Lawyer quotes

  • [Mick, armed with a baseball bat, discovers Louis has broken into his house]

Louis Roulet: [sitting casually in Mick's home office] If you're wondering how I got in, I'm in real estate, so if I want to get into a friend's house...

Mick Haller: No, we're not friends. You're my client. And I'm your lawyer.

Louis Roulet: My lawyer. See, that's exactly what I wanted to remind you of. I'm about to go on trial, and yet I couldn't reach you. Now I find out where you were all day. Heard you tell Maggie.

    Mick Haller: You shit.

Louis Roulet: You went to see Jesus Martinez. And I know what you talked about: Donna Renteria. You're right, Mick. I killed her. There. No reason I shouldn't tell my own lawyer since it's all confidential. Attorney-client privilege. Isn't that what you told me?

Mick Haller: It's time for you to go, Louis.

    Louis Roulet: Alright.

[He sits up, finishes his drink, and stands up. He notices a framed picture of Mick & his daughter Hayley on Mick's desk]

Louis Roulet: [walks out into the living room] That's a cute picture of your daughter Hayley. She's very pretty. She's got soccer practice tomorrow, right?

    Mick Haller: [following Louis] Don't.

Louis Roulet: [pretending to be confused] Don't what?

Mick Haller: [gets in Louis' face] You think you're the first client to threaten me and my family? Huh?

Louis Roulet: All I said was she's pretty.

Mick Haller: Are you scared, Louis? Because where you are right now, you're in a very dangerous place.

[He opens the front door and Louis leaves]

  • Mick Haller: [sitting on Maggie's front porch as Louis approaches him] Hello, Louis. My family's here.

    Louis Roulet: I know.

Mick Haller: You bring your knife? My gun?

    Louis Roulet: Maybe.

    Mick Haller: Good.

[pulls his new gun out of his coat pocket]

Mick Haller: 'Cause I brought this. You've got one chance to turn around and leave.

Louis Roulet: [stepping closer] And then what? You gonna keep coming back every night? Every day? Or just try to get me sent up to San Quentin like Jesus Martinez?

Mick Haller: No. I'm not quitting until Martinez is free and you're convicted of murder. And when that needle goes in your arm, that will be me.

    [nods]

Louis Roulet: [as a commuter train passes by in the background] Well, why don't you just shoot me right now?

Mick Haller: I don't think I'll have to.

    [looks out towards the street]

    Louis Roulet: [turns around] Hey!

[Eddie Vogel and his biker gang pull up and start vandalizing Louis' car with baseball bats]

    Louis Roulet: That's my car!

[a biker rides up from behind and hits Louis with a baseball bat, knocking him to the sidewalk]

    Biker: It's Louis' car, man!

[the bikers continue vandalizing Louis' car as Mick gets up and walks to the street]

Biker: Come on, now. Get him up. Get up!

[another biker grabs Louis and drags him out into the middle of the street]

Mick Haller: Hospital, not the morgue.

[Eddie gives Mick a two-finger salute as his posse beats up Louis and Mick walks away]
